i don't rate either of those two, particularly elford. i look back on that game where gasnier beat him 5 times and can do nothing but laugh

Shane Elford's defence in the run up to and including the 2005 grand final is very much under appreciated.

The void left by Tod Payten will never be filled ,a back in a forwards body, he did a lot more for the team than just play. He led from the front and showed the way and the fact his name hasnt appeared in this thread yet proves he is definately underrated by the fans

I don't know how you came to that conclusion. I would think the fact he isn't mentioned proves that the fans did infact rate him and was he wasn't under-valued

When we first joined he was probably the only decent player I thought we got out of the deal.

By the way, what ever happened to Adam Star?

No idea….never played for WTs

I was always a fan of Shane Walker. big, strong and always made decent metres. Willie Manu is another, plenty of talent but a poor work ethic let him down and I reckon Ben Galea always played above his weight in the forwards and was a good player.

I read the OP.

"It is more the second group Im interested in who you guys think is underated by our fans."

And people suggest Laffranchi/Fulton/Galea? I guess its a subjective topic, but I just can't see the logic….

Definitely some interesting names listed… I'd go with Corey Pearson and John Morris. Both Pearson & Morris gave there all for the jumper without any great accolades. Both also played plenty of games back to back while there mates where going down around them.
