Reject shop roster

Cant agree....specials bin reduced for quick sale ....

You can get lucky sometimes, back in the late 60s i found 6 bottles of Grange Hermitage (3 different vintages) in a dump bin at a pubs bottlestore at 3 dollars a pop.Naturally i grabbed them straight away and asked him if he had any more out the back which he did.Best bargain i have had in my life.i ended up with 9 bottles for $27.
In those days many Australians refered to wine as "plonk" and did not rate it.We just need to do the same with unknown players who are talented and not getting a fair go at their club.

I have said this many times we will not improve when Brooks, Mbye and Packer take up 2.5 mill of our cap. Good players are hard to come by, and Hynes should have been a player our club identified and gone after hard. But ......

Apart from a couple of duds I don't think our roster is that bad..its just poor attitude and non interest under Maguire

Billy Slater made an interesting comment last night on 9. The Broncs were attacking and he said young players have good natural instincts and they must be nurtured. Our young players appear as though this has been coached out of them to fit into the five hit ups and a bomb style.

Let’s be honest and this is why it’s so hard to be passionate.
The team we put out is full of mostly juniors or players blooded this year.
Madge said as much in the presso having a few senior players out.

The problem with this is and we need to understand how rosters are structured in this comp. our young guys we are blooding are no better then the young guys the roosters or the Storm have blooded this year.

The differnce however lies in the Senior players in both sides.

Roosters have a Stefano in Daniel Suluka Fifita. But they also have a Jared Warea Hargreaves an Issac Liu and a SST.

Roosters or Storm have a Shaun Blore in Egan Butcher and Trent Ioiero. But they also have a Angus Crichton and Felise Kaufusi.

Correct mate. The naivety on here astounds me. The club will continue to lurch from horror to horror until we fix up our ability to attract elite players.

This says it all, doesn't it.

Highlighted.
Quoted for truth.

A lot of rott that really needs addressing.

Remember when we used to come 9th😥

We used to be the 9th Wonder of the NRL - now wer'e like the Barrier Reef - degraded to the point of irrelevance and taken off the list.

I think this roster though average indeed, would make 8 under Ivan Cleary. Sorry don't hate me!

Not a chance Jay , back in the day we woulda said to the boys get back on ya feet and dust yourself off and go again next week , unfortunately this mob don’t get dirty to begin with

Let’s take a deep breath here and look at how our roster is filled with senior players who would mostly be bench players at the top clubs. We have introduced a lot of very young inexperienced players who are not up to standard at this stage. As we cannot attract any elite or quality players we have been forced to blood these players when they are not ready and up to first grade standard. These young players all missed a season last year due to Covid which has put their development way behind
I am sick of media blasting the Tigers as we have the youngest roster in the competition.
Last nights game showed the lack of depth at the club. The game was won and lost when their bench had impact and ours went in reverse with a bunch of inexperienced kids.

The media didn’t mention the fact we had out the following players which we have replacements that are simply not up to first grade standard at this stage plus they lacked recent game time and fitness.
Tamou
Garner
Seafarth
Mikaele
Musgrove
Roberts
AJ Kepoa
Plus the loss of our promising Rookie fullback in Laurie.
We cannot afford to have an injury list like this especially in the forwards.
The coach has been bashed from pillar to post like Brooks but realistically with this roster and our current injury list there is not much he can do as the depth of the club is very poor but he has been blooding young players for the future. These players are the future but it’s painful at present.
Our spine is very inexperience except for Brooks still learning the game. We have had defensive issues for last ten years which is the no 1 issue at the club. It’s extremely frustrating and painful going through this as a long time supporter but we all have to stick together and be realistic.
Edge defence is a major issue. We need to recruit specialists seasoned experience players centres and backrowers that are good defenders as ours are either bench player quality or very inexperienced.
Hopefully we can recruit some players of quality for these positions plus youngsters having more experience and have better run of injuries.

This is not a bad roster .. a decent coach this team playing finals this year ! The coach is the issue a failure any way you look at it ..

May not be bad but its definitely not a complete roster.

It'd have to be in the bottom 3 in the game to be fair.

In our defence we are still recovering from ex coaches poor deals with the wrong players on long contracts.

The long term Nofo deal is a hard one to stomach also, as well as not allowing average players like AJ, Talau and others develope in NSW Cup but instead naming them every week in first grade to embarrass their selves, the club and us fans.

The worst part of all is the guys Madge keeps beside him in the box. Sooner this is reviewed and outside more suited options explored, the better.

Lets look at why the elite players arent being purchased....its easy to say they dont WANT to come here, but the club has had a plan of not buying or overpaying for players, rather they have chosen to develop from within...
All the guys that have made the headlines about the WTs targeting them really is media hype, yes we may have made offers and negotiations but bigger money mostly got the players, its a cutthroat market and player managers seek the most they can for the player and themselves....if you look back in our history, paying big money for ""the elite at the time players has caused us grief""..
I hope that Hartigan and Madge get to see the fruits of their labor in the next couple of seasons, its then the young will have experience and developed into NRL quality players...if not it hasnt cost us a huge hit that takes us back many years again to have money to spend on a couple of elite players when they come available and we need them...
To be realistic, and many will disagree with me but trying to sort out a club to mould an NRL competative team takes time, some pain, losses through injury and not having depth to replace the top players in our squad...we can buy players and spend huge amounts just to say we have bought great players, but that has been a disaster many times at this club....change needed to happen, its slowly getting there ,however the on field losses are showing us just how inexperienced, lack of NRL quality players we have at the moment, but they will get better,,,in my opinion ""Patience is a virtue"".i will wait a bit longer to see how these blokes perform over the 2022 season before sacking the coach,CEO,players and finally the club.....just my opinion....

I basically agree. The concern I have is that Madge is not getting the players to play good footy. Is he the right coach to get the most out of the talent that we have ?
