Our Spine

Tonight started with the forwards not wrapping the ball up or putting their shoulders into it. Attitude was off and that was all it took.

I have no idea where you play Doueihi especially if (as suggested) we are paying him 650k per year.

As a fullback he is safe under the high ball and can hit a gap, but is slow and his positioning has been ordinary all year.

From what I have seen his defence is terrible and I have concerns around him defending on an edge in the frontline. I am not sold on him as a 5/8 as while he can throw a good pass, from what I have seen the ball is so slow through his hands.

They say that the good players always seem to have time, he always seems rushed or unable to make the play. Again tonight there were a couple of times where he seemed to have time and space & numbers outside him, but was caught and died with the ball.

from what I have seen I think his best position is centre, and again we are paying big money for a centre. I would also like to see what he can do as a 5/8.

My initial impression is that again we have paid overs for someone who is a pretty good footballer, but a bit of a jack of all trades who can adequately cover a number of positions, but will not tsand out in any of them.

So where are we getting better again?

We r not...

We're u at the game Steve?

Yep I was there with my son.

Bloody horrible. Couldn’t see a thing and what we could see was crap.
Good to spend time with my youngest though- that’s always awesome

we keep on experimenting with bad buys from previous people in charge in an atempt not to waste spent money

Won’t be able to medically retire them if they don’t get hurt

Can't wait for cricket....

My view is for the rest of the year we try to settle on positions for next year:
- Drop benji, his time is past. Unless we can move players on, we are in big trouble if he gets another contract.
- Walters is a bench player and should not be considered unless there are injuries
- Does the club rate Madden and is he anywhere near physically ready for first grade? If yes to both these questions then look to give him a couple of games

Otherwise look to trial different combinations of the guys that will be here next year (preferably ones the club is not looking to offload including:
1 Mybe, 6 Doueihi, 7 Brooks
1 Doueihi, 6 Reynolds, 7 Brooks
1 Doueihi, 6 Reynolds, 7 Mbye
1 Doueihi, 6 Mbye, 7 Brooks
1 ????, 6 Doueihi, 7 Mbye
1 Mbye, 6 Doueihi, 7 Reynolds

In all honestly though, looking at those options I would be happy if we could move a couple of those players on and look at short term signings until some of the youngsters are ready.

He certainly isn’t inspiring the confidence he did when first signed. Is he really that slow, or injured? What’s the consensus there? Feel like I’m missing something.. At the moment he’s slower than a wet week, and if this is as quick as he is then he’ll only ever contribute as much as Mbye does to our attack. I don’t think there’s much upside there. Seems fairly evasive considering his lack of pace though, and good under the high ball.

He is playing inured..

Is average.

Harry Grant is a star but the rest are middle of the road.

We have no leadership or direction

Desperately need to sign someone.

You'e speaking about Walters and Marshall. Don't drag Brooks into this because the game was well and truly over when he eventually got on.

I've seen Brooks.

He doesn't have it either.

Another Brooks' bashing thread . We got done through the forwards. Joey L, Josh R and Moses M also need to take their share of responsibility

Your right. There are a number of players who should not be in the team. Brooks is one of them.

He just seems completely lost out there. Change of club might help him.
