I should've stayed at work, overtime's less painful than this...

I can’t believe none of our boys put a shot on him or got in his face all game .
Bunch of softies .

Down by 2 with 2.5 minutes left is a great result against an unbearen team when we have have our 2 of our highest paid players in nsw cup and 700k under the cap so effectivley playing 2.1m under the cap plus our highest paid player is our bench utility

Gee, great is pushing it boon. What do we have 2 highest players in reserves? Media, refs, NRL? Surely not our doing.

They did not outclass us. They were fighting to stay in the game with 5 to go with the referee on their side. That game said more about them than us.

No one wants to be beaten by the Wests Tigers.
Really I think we lost the game in the first half, but found it a positive sign that we had a little bit of fight in us too.
There's a reason they're sitting at the top of the ladder and until we correct or improve on it, teams are always going to take of advantage of the fact we have a new spine and certain defensive problems.
We need to start clicking and stop playing so half arsed. We looked very hesitant in the first 10 if you ask me.

:flushed: :grinning: :+1:

Our biggest problem, and it has been a problem for years is that we have no line speed and very little coordination in defence. If we could get off the line in D and hold the middle instead if folding backwards, we'd go ok.

Oh yes, we need a halfback too.

5 repeat sets conceded on our line, all resulted in tries. Weak weak goal line defence, the tries weren't fancy, just rolling over the top of our defenders.

Carbon copy of so many "proud losses" last year.

Get close, no plan to win, not enough to desire and belief and vulnerable in defence.

Not acceptable.

There was no heart in our team for 70 minutes of that game. Reminded me of public servants just waiting for their paycheck.

Wow really? I Probably work harder than you do champ.

Am i watching a different game to everyone else? Brooks was horrendous, he has no game management skills and the worst kicking game I’ve ever seen.

Where were our repeat sets? We were attacking their line during the majority of the first half and did not get a single repeat set. Not even an attempt to do so.

He needs to go, but then again, there is no one to replace him with.

Watched the game live with a few eel supporters and they were not happy at all. Lauries kick goes around their winger and we score again with 3 minutes to go.

couldn’t agree more with what you just said. He has no idea how to manage a team. I will also say parra will never win a grand final with Moses running the show. He is no better.

I don't agree with blaming refs in this much.

I actually think we were outsmarted a lot. The Moses dive over the sideline should've been challenged. AJ tackling Fergo without the ball, not giving away a 6 again when they have a clear overlap, not sticking up for your halves when they get belted by forwards. Not realising it's last tackle or 5th tackle. It's ok to spread it out on the 5th but make it clear to everyone you need the ball straight away.

There is just no planning, no clear voice, no direction in attack or defence.

We had 7 tries put on us despite Parra playing one of their worse games of the season. Yeh the forward pass call was probably incorrect and a couple of decisions went against us but the refs are not the reason we lost this game or didn't have a chance to win it.

In the first half the 6th tackle options he was nowhere to be seen for first 20 or so.
Meh

There are always heaps of bad/ arbitrary calls both ways.
But they rarely are so bad that it does decide the game IMO. .
How about that arbitrary shepherding call on Gutho?
If the Eels had lost they would have likely pointed to that.

We lost the game in the first 30 unfortunately. No urgency in the goal line defence, gave them too much time to attack. We did really well to get back into the game! Our attack seems clunky I’m hoping that’s more to do with the combinations being 3 games old and still building and no Madge wanting to just play one outs till 10m’s out. Hopefully we get better as the season goes on! Brooks had a good game, not perfect but with more confidence I think we might see more of his 2017-18 form. (Less whining from our own fans and bashing him on social media might help too)

We look slow and clunky all over the park. I’m hoping it’s just a case of new combinations etc

Parramatta were not that great and were certainly beatable, a decent team probably puts them away

Edit - wasn't meaning to have a go at any real public servants.

parra dropped the ball at least six times in the second half, which did give the tigers some reprieve.
the tigers did score 4 tries and the most any team has put past them this year.
Parra just seemed quicker .
Yesterday we were racing out of our class to coin a racing term.
There are better times ahead which all forumers are keen to see.

Our biggest issue is waiting on our initial 10 m or slow move forwards, so the opposition made 7 to 8 m on every play without even trying. Our props were better then in the last three games. Garner again exposed in defence but he also does not do anything in the attack.

Our best players were Laurie, Utoikamanu, Liddle, Tamou, Musgrave, Twal, Nofoaluma, Roberts and L Lailua in the 2nd half.
AD shall continue with his 'King Richards' special attacking kicks.

MIA AJ, Talau, Garner

IMHO, Garner shall be replaced by Amone or Simpkins
AJ with Cini
Talau with BJ

I've been saying this for years. Our whole team is way too slow moving up in defense, hence majority of the time the opposition makes upwards of 45-50m every set (also another reason why we continually talk about opposition forward run metres). I watched the storm the other night and they were moving up so hard in defense and can maintain it throughout the entire game. Why can't we do it? Is it not part of our game plan? Or do we struggle to slow the ruck which effects our ability to move off the line? Madge supposedly trains them hard enough so it can't be blamed on fitness. We need to change this tactic or is it just a team culture thing that we don't seem to want to change.

Also, our average metres per run is very ordinary in all four games. A good example is that we had 35 more runs than Parramatta, but only managed an extra 4 metres. First 3 rounds before that were noticeably lopsided. I understand that it is not an accurate reflection if you are getting a lot of ball near the opposition try line, but yesterday’s game seemed pretty even for where each team had their share of possession. We have a pretty decent size forward pack, thought this year might have been an improvement from previous years. Still early in season I suppose.
