Overseas Fans

I realise this section is Interstate Fans… but I know there are quite a few of us not even currently in Australia. Maybe we can get our own section up?

Would love to hear from any and all who are supporting the Tigers from afar and whereabouts everyone is.

I am living and working in Yangshuo, China (Southern China). Been here 4 years... was perfect timing as the last game I saw before I went away was the 2005 Grand Final. Been back a few times over the years, saw the Tigers beat the Eels at Para Stadium last year. Thinking I should book my flight tickets home for September this year too!

If anyone needs advice on how to watch Tigers games let me know too. It took me a few years to find it, but get most of the games pretty quickly these days and some even live.

I've been checking out the core stats of this site and we've defiantly got a few international visitors from a wide range of countries, although i'm not sure how many a registered users.

tigerstu let us know where/how you get your games. I'm going to be in Europe for good part of the season and will be keen to still watch the games live. Somehow I doubt they will be showing NRL in pubs anywhere in the Cyclades

I'm in Ireland for the first half of the season and would love to meet up with some other fans to watch the games if any one knows where and how I can get them.

Whould have to be over the internet as no TV coverage here.

Will be cheering the boys on as best I can from over here

You might get lucky in Europe… lots of satellite TV around and a few that do play NRL. But often only 1 or 2 games a week!

Not sure if I should post on here how to access games overseas... so PM me if anyone is interested.

Stu great place to live. Yangshuo has to be one of the best places I have visited in China. I had a great week down there last year.

hey all

good to know a post/group like this exists - like tigerstu I'm living in the south of China, Guangzhou to be exact. Listened to the Gold Coast game on 2GB on Friday night. The time difference is minimal and kind of in our favour here, so it was great (besides the result of course) to have somewhat live coverage.

tigerstu you'll have to PM about watching the games. I couldn't find a feed no matter what I searched for on google!

Was able to get in about 6 games this year including a farewell game at Leichardt v the Storm so couldn't have asked for much more before I left. My mates and I all found it funny how the one year we make the finals I decide to leave the country. Our chances v the Roosters are 50/50 I think but who cares? We're a good side this year and it's great to still be around.

regan i think it's the further east you go - the girls are in Poland are the most beautiful and were pretty willing when I went there. There and Colombia!

Another year… another struggle to watch matches live.

Need to set up a sling box in Australia... anyone interested in getting paid to help out?

Seems there might be more streaming options, but no matter my line speed here in China, it just keeps on buffering and so frustrating to watch. Wish I was an IT expert... surely there is a way to capture a stream, let it load and then watch it with no buffering???

tigerstu I just signed up at the LiveNRLTV website - is this the stream and buffering you were referring too? For the most part I got good streaming live coverage. Even on the LO quality feed the picture was pretty clear.
What you might want to do is get a stream downloader, download the game stream and watch it as a movie file once downloaded. At least you won't have buffering.

Thankful for the NRL site too since it seems the Australia Network out of Hong Kong isn't broadcasting the NRL anymore

Anything I watch in China through streaming buffers… except if we watch crappy Chinese soaps. Something to do with internet in China... I have streamed stuff in Australia, Sri Lanka, Malaysia etc with no problems and it is nothing to do with connection speed, as we have a fast connection.

Stream downloader... any suggestions on one that is free and works well? Can you capture say 20 minute worth, then start watching as the rest still gets captured?

Here we go again my international friends.

Any updates on streams, sites, p2p or anything to help us all watch Tigers games LIVE are appreciated.

I have a new one this year. [Edited by mods] I did a few tests over the winter and I think it will work well for free to air, maybe only a 10 minute delay in watching. But there is a trick to it… PM me if interested.

Happy viewing!

Hi Tigerstu i am living in HK, so if you can PM me any details of how you stream and even delay by a few minutes would be great. Thank you
