P&O Cruises

I have been on 37 cruises and have 2 more booked.. Get on with an open mind and if you like meeting and chatting to new people and having fun then you will love it….

If you think you will get sea sick or as a preventative go to the Chemist and buy some Avomine (behind the counter) they will try and push natural stuff but this is the closest to what you are given onboard by the medical staff.. Travel Insurance is a must..

Make sure you turn all the data etc off on your mobiles because if not it will cost you dearly once your phone starts scrolling MCP across the provider once you clear the heads on sailaway leave it in the drawer.

If there are a couple of you and you have a few electrical products then take a double adapter as there is only 1 outlet in the cabin for use..

Have a great time

Cheers mate.

We've planned for all of those things you mentioned. I'm taking my laptop incase i want to watch a movie or something, so will definitely bring an adaptor . As for stuff to take for sea sickness, my gf works in a hospital so she'll be able to get whatever we need.

Just completed a 10 day P&O Pacific Pearl cruise with my family.

We all had a great time especially my 6 year old twins who loved the Shark Shack.

We were lucky enough to have the only Lego Professional from Australia join the boat in Brisbane and presented a few work shops to my son's enjoyment. One of only 13 Lego professional in the world.

The food was better than I expected and loved the Waterfront restaurant.

Nathan Foley (ex Hi 5 member) was part of the entertainment and can sing and play a piano well.

So much to do on the cruise and they played all the semi finals on the big screen.

AFL fans were disappointed as they did not show any AFL at all.

We changed Prime Minister during the cruise.

So much things to do. Won the music trivia 4 nights in a row.

I would say on our boat 80% were retirees, 15% families and 5% singles. Had to watch out for walking sticks.

Only negatives were the pools were so small and we shared a family 4 cabin which meant the wife and myself had to sleep in the top bunks and climb down stairs during the night in a very dark cabin.
Children to small to sleep up the top.

Would recommend cruising to anyone.

Would love to go on a European river cruise when I retire with the wife.

Have fun GRN4LIFE.

So me and the lady friend are going on our first holiday together just after Christmas. It's a cruise to all the islands. Can't remember which ones off top of my head, Numea is one i know.

Anyway, she's done it before, but i haven't. I've never even been out of the country as a matter of fact, only got my passport last week. Its probably a bit sad, but out of everything there is to experience, i'm mainly looking forward to the food

Can't say i'm that interested in the Islands, but i can't wait to experience the ship life.

So my question is what can i expect? Has anyone on here ever done a cruise before? How was it, would you do it again, any interesting stories etc?

So…. How'd it go?

GNR,I did a cruise with my missus and two kids…it was on the Carnival Spirit,PtVila,Mystery Island,Liffou and Nouméa...fantastic time and all I did for most of the time on the ship was eat and drink, food was excellent and plentiful..Nouméa was very nice and I would go back there with the missus for a week to see some nightlife, nearly impossible with the kids..all in all I hope you had a great time.....

Cheers TT

It was pretty good when i wasn't sea sick. I couldn't do anything for the first two days because of motion sickness, had no appetite. By the time we got to the first port i had adjusted and enjoyed myself for the next week. Coming home on the final day the seas were really rough. We woke up at 5 in the morning to waves crashing and banging and the ship rocking. That last day was one of the longest of my life. At least i didn't have it as bad as the lady friend though, she couldn't get out of bed that final day. And to top it off our arrival in Sydney had been pushed back from 7am to Midday on account of the rough seas. That screwed tons of people who had to re-book flights. It cost one couple $1500 because they were from NZ. We were lucky because we were getting picked up, so the only headache we had was having to get internet to send word home not to rush otherwise they'd be spending 5 hrs at the terminal waiting.

Sea sickness and rough seas aside though, it was a lot of fun. I really dug Noumea, mainly because it was non-English speaking which was a new experience for me. We went in to Maccas. Tasted different but it was still good. 12 days was enough to last me 12 months, if i go back on one, i can't see it happening till at least after next Christmas.

All in all i'd give it 2 thumbs up

Sounds like we got pretty lucky with the weather when we went…. Did the same as you TT.
I think I may have got a little seasick but more headache first night than actual spewing ... And then some other nights not sleeping well yet other slept like a baby. I wore the wrist bands for a few days which may have helped.
I ate a lot more than I usually do... Gambled more too... But all in all was a great time. I liked the cliffs of Jokin.... And the sand on Isle of Pines was like talcum powder.
Will be few years before we go on another cruise I'd say

I love cruising, good laidback holiday.

My parents are addicted they jsut went past 50 cruises including a series that took them all around the world 80 days on ships on 110day holiday (They spent 30 triping through the UK and France)
