Tevita Pangai Jr is one of the many Broncos whose future is unclear with Brisbane undergoing a mass cleanout.

While there were rumours that TPJ could be headed to the Wests Tigers, club Chairman Lee Hagipantelis has confirmed that luring Tevita south is no longer part of the Tigers' plans.

In an interview with SEN 1170’s Breakfast with Vossy Hagipantelis opened up on the details of the discussions with Pangai Jnr.

“There were discussions between the club Tevita’s representatives,” the Chairman said.

“There was no formal offer.

“But there were discussions with respect to provisions of a contract.

“But there was no formal offer put on the table.”

“The club, as it does with all potential opportunities on the market, considered Tevita and decided to move in a different direction.

While Hagipantelis admits that Pangai Jr is a talented player, he confirmed that the Tigers won’t be making a move for the soon to be off contract forward.

“I didn't actually meet with him but ***I’m told he’s a great young fella, very impressive young fella***

“And we know how good of a footballer he can be but the club just made a decision that that wasn’t the direction they wanted to move, so we didn’t.

Pangai Jr's future still remains up in the air, with the forward potentially seeing out his Brisbane contract until the end of the 2022 season.

BTW "I’m told he’s a great young fella, very impressive young fella" does defintely not equal "not a good fit for the club".

agree some pride in performance would be good the look int the dressing room prior to souths game they looked disinterested
it's always the coach that gets punted we have seen that I guess this time we still have Hartigan around and also Sheens and cap space to work with.

The perception to prospective future signings would be having ramifications on us being able to sign players to our club

Duffty to Dogs looks definite. TPJ? Zero meaningful progress all round. Could be us, probably the Dogs, might stay put. My advice would be to enjoy Wimbledon and the Euro final and regroup later on.
As bad a everyone says the dogs are at least they are doing something and not happy with the same team.. Unlike us just sitting here thinking we are a club like the Storm or Roosters where players will hold out for less money to come here.
On Reedy's mail on Triple M they were saying we are talking to TPJ and 2.2m over 3 years.. Someone was saying this before which included TPA..

Is the 3 years including the remainder of this year?

Surely its from 2022 onwards ..Hes suspended for the next 3 games,and theres only 4 left after that..
Not a lot of value in that figure if it includes 2021

If we sign him, i would expect it to be for the rest of this year and then 3 more years.

Only way $2.2mill cld make sense...tho its quite a gamble....

This is the latest on TPJ, as it stands the tigers have up their bid to sign him with a deal worth around the 800000 mark that’s including 3rd party. The comments made by Lee regarding TPJ not the right fit for the club put a soar taste in TPJ and he’s manager. ATM TPJ has not signed with anyone so it’s up in the air.

I know the bulldogs will be announcing 2 signings with in 2 weeks I think Duffty could be one and they are close on signing Milford
