Panthers 2014 Logo Change

I like it. A bit of a throwback to the 90's logo by showing the full panther, rather than just it's head.

There was an article in one of the papers a few days ago from Phil Gould saying that yes they are looking at changing the logo for 2014 but that they will be looking at a number of designs until March next year, as the logo has to be registered before April. But until that time they are just looking at numerous options. This could well be one of them I guess.

It's just one person's design and it won an unofficial facebook competition. The person who made it was Aaron Eastgate and the design has been sent to the panthers

Various Penrith rugby league teams had played for many years between 1912 and 1966 in the Western Districts League under the control of the Western Suburbs RLFC, in the Parramatta competition after Parramatta was admitted to the NSWRL in 1947, and also in a second-tier Sydney competition introduced by the NSWRFL in 1962\. **By this time a single top level rugby league team had emerged in the Penrith area and in 1964 they became known as the Penrith Panthers.** The Panther had been chosen as the Penrith emblem after a public competition won by a graphic artist from Emu Plains named Deidre Copeland.

Seems they're celebrating from the year they were first formed, not from when they actually entered the first grade tier of the comp.

Yep I read the same thing…..pretty likely a fans mock up

Still ...not a bad effort imo....I like the fact its on an angle like the bulldog....gives it depth
Ours looks flat and its the same if u fold it in half

Its in the NRL section. Not the Wests Tigers section. You may not be interested in news/rumors like this but other people are..

My graphic skills are stretched drawing a map for non-English speaking Taxi drivers but the head of the Panther is too small in that logo.I've got a soft spot for Penrith,virtually my second team since the late 1960's when half their roster was ex- Balmain. …...RIP Georgie.
