I'm hoping after the Tigers interview Potter he shines and stands above the rest. He has the runs, wants the job and is not connected to the Tigers or magpies in any way

Hope its true i want him or Nathan Brown im sure will hopefully get one of them.

Apparently Brown wants a bucketload of money… He's on good coin in ESL... For that reason he won't be considered

Brown is prepared to take a pay cut to get the Tigers gig. In UK he's on a bit more than half what we were giving Sheens.

Only time will tell. TBH I would prefer others over Parish, but at the end of the day the incumbent wasn't working out for us. He had arguably the best squad in years and couldn't make the eight with them.

We're not in the position to demand a coach with credentials for obvious reasons, so we will have to settle for it. If we do sign Parish, I'll give him a go simply because he is something different to what we've seen, and we could be anything with a new coach. Whomever it is, I hope they bring a bit of discipline along with them.

Well said CB…theres no guarantees either way, positive or neg

It's about the crux of it Ink.

Some of us have begged for change, we've been handed it, now we have to give it a chance.

Looks like I might have to make an apology for giving you some misinformation in regards to Matt Parish

Without going into too much detail I was basing in on a conversation I had with these blokes at my one of my wife's nephews birthday parties It seems I may have got the wrong nephew and the wrong time line so explains why i thought the team had done well under Parish instead of doing badly

But that doesn't change the facts that they said they enjoyed playing under him

Again I apologize to the Forum for the error It wasn't intentional

Cheers Happy

( 'twas a weak point anyway mate - QLD reggies semis - LOL- but anyway )

I'll reinterate what I said 2 weeks ago. Parish was unsuccessful and not a preferred candidate he hasn't been informed either way from what I've heard. only way he gets the job is if financial and contractual agreements can't be met with another candidate. The tele is right, there is a couple pushing for parish but not enough for a majority rule scenario.

If parish is named coach you will know it pretty much turned to shat with the other candidate

Cheers SG,would like to think Potter or Brown,do you have any idea who they prefer if they can afford it,Parish has had bad recommendations from former players, this is not a good look, thanks again SG made my day.

**Has anyone here ever heard from anyone who has been coached by parish** or even ever met parish because the reasons for not wanting him seem flaky at best. He won the qld cup with the young cowboys , has been coaching for 20yrs starting with the entrance. He has recommendations from many of the top people in the game and has been nsw assistant coach, manly assistant coach signed by Ricky for 3 yrs at parra, etc so he does have some positives. Also it seems at Sanford the fans wanted the board gone and so did parish because the club was being run into the ground. I'm not sure he is or isn't the best choice but I'm warming to the idea and if they have done the interviews and the research and he is the choice then I am right behind it.

Vinnie Anderson spoke out on twitter, so did Jack Spencer.

The words "don't do it, this guys a clown" were used.

Personally i can't wait to hear who we appoint.

Potter/brown/Ando/Folkes etc… I'm leaning towards Ando but only because of my schooling haha.

Any of those four would be great, if not i'll get behind them anyway.

Should the club not have enough coin and have to look at Parish we can do a quick whip around the forum, $50 a pop should fix that....

I think its safe to say Anderson and Folkes have never been in the running. Anderson definitely hasn't

I am sure every coach would have players or ex-players of his who either strongly like or dislike him for whatever personal reasons. Maybe those 2 blokes mentioned didn't get a game while he was coach? Maybe he thought they were clowns themselves?
I wouldn't be basing my choice on recommendations from players coz they would all have their own personal point of view on the bloke either for or against.

As Cultured Bogan stated previously, almost every fan of WT has been screaming for a new coach for awhile now so we just have to be content with whoever gets appointed whether we approve or not.
As long as he changes our culture of a moaning, pouting, sooking "boys club" because I for one am sick to death of hearing our fella's whinge continuously.
"**Just shut up and play footy**" will be our club's new creedo I am hoping :sign:

Any chance this culture will filter all the way down to our beloved Forum … And you know, every time the team puts in a sub standard performance we don't have to face up to the usual long line of hysterical monday morning, Gap plunging rhetoric calling for everyone and anyone to be sacked.

Yeah ... Probably not.

I think people forget that it is mathematically impossible to have 16 teams winning each week. The same logic also applies to the fact that one team has to finish last and only one team can finish first. As far as I am concerned I am happy if the Wests Tigers puts in an honest team effort each week. With the talent they will have available for 2013 they will certainly win more than their share of games. It all boils down to honesty and harmony within the team. A good management, a good captain and a good coach will go a long way to achieiving this.

WESTS Tigers will have one of the lowest-paid coaches in NRL history next year, with the three strongest candidates willing to sign on for less than $200,000 a year just to get a chance.
>
Kevin Walters is firming as the man most likely to replace Tim Sheens, edging ahead of Mick Potter and Matt Parish.
>
St Helens and former St George Illawarra coach Nathan Brown was never a serious chance, having knocked back an interview request from Tigers CEO Stephen Humphreys.
>
Walters was interviewed for a second time on Friday and it's believed a decision on the next coach could be made in the next 48 hours. But what the Tigers can pay is being influenced by Sheens' salary of $500,000 a season and their likely payout figure.
>
The blowtorch will be applied to Sheens when he returns from Test duties today, with the Tigers set to impose a deadline for him to accept a senior role in the front office. His next move is full of intrigue, with influential figures at the Tigers making a behind the scenes push for Sheens to replace Bill Harrigan as the referees' boss.

If that move were to eventuate it would allow the Tigers to negotiate a reduced payout for Sheens and free up some much needed cash.

Tigers officials have a scheduled board meeting in a fortnight but are preparing to convene a special meeting this week once they have consulted Test stars Benji Marshall and Robbie Farah.

Take it with a grain of salt as its a Buzz article.

I don't think anyone has an idea on who the coach will be media included other than the board and the candidates themselves. They've been saying parish all along and now Walters is favourite? I'm not believing a word of anything til there's an announcement from the club.

I think i'll be really disappointed if it isn't Potter. He's got the best resume out of the 3 and is willing to work for chicken feed. Grab him with both hands
