Why are they waiting till next week…?

They have to get the premiership trophy back

The 8 sides ahead of us have been found to be cheating the cap and we won the 2018 premiership :sign:

Ivan wants back in now , bus and all

Rumours normally have more to it than you have led on….so what’s the story you have heard?

All I heard was exactly what I posted with the addition that it was nothing to do with Wests owning the Tigers. I’m not trying to start rumours, just trying to find out if what I heard was true.

Seems like no one knows anything which probably means there’s nothing happening.

To give you the source - a good mate of mine plays cricket with a guy who work in at NRL headquarters. The guy who works in NRL said a story was about to break this coming week involving WestsTigers and it wasn’t about ownership. That’s all that was said.

Thanks mate.

Got a feeling you may be closest to the truth.

I believe the balmain tigers owed the NRL money and they defaulted on the payments
May have something to do with it

My understanding is that Wests Ashfield paid that money. Wests Tigers dont owe NRL any money. Balmain owe WA.

Yeah, Ashfield covered the debt with the NRL for Balmain, and took a majority 75% share in return.

Despite Go etc being initially appointed as independent directors by the NRL, the NRL no longer have no financial or governmental interest in the club.

Nothing to do with internal JV finances or the A League. All should be known mid week. Can't say anything further I'm afraid.

Cheers Yoss. Can you shed whether it’s good or bad news?

I hope it's not bad news but based on the timing it appears more likely to be bad news rather than good. PR101 suggests if you want to bury bad news you put it out when there's a lull in the media cycle e.g late Friday afternoon. If it's good news you put it out when the media cycle is in full swing so as to maximise coverage. Mid-week in the week before Christmas is more suggestive of bad news rather than good.
Good on you for not breaking a confidence, though. I admire that.
