Passion, support , tigers

my passion for wests-tigers will never die, check my forum signature.
I will support them until my heart stops beating.
wests-tigers or no one for me.
 
I've enjoyed most of the comments this week regarding our season. I think most of us fans offer only a little sympathy for our position and admit a fair portion of the problem has been self inflicted one way or another. The passion for the club's well being cannot be questioned though. This week has only reminded me once more.
 
Win or lose I love being at Leichardt. I'm trying to explain the importance of the hill to my girlfriend.

Her: So where are our seats?

Me: Oh I bought general admission, so we'll be on the hill

Her: I don't like the hill, I'm too short to see the game properly

Me: No one can see the game properly on the hill, you have no view of the nearside touchline, so when they're running North to South you miss all the Tuquiri tries, you can't see the the big screen properly for the video ref and if it's an afternoon game you get blinded by the sun. After the game you go home and watch the replay to see what you missed.

Her: So why don't we just get grandstand tickets?

Me: Cos you've gotta be on the hill. It's traditional.

Mate, get her a nice folding deck chair, place her next to the Beer Van and you move to the Hill. Everytime the boys need a round, text her "I miss you" and "can you grab 6 beers and I'll give you a hug"…

Its the best formula!!!

Back in my day AS THE superstar Reserve for Reserve grade at Bathurst Railway in the 80's a 18 gallon keg was always on offer if you could spring an upset, we did it too in 1988, was very enjoyable too.
Twenty odd years on and there are much higher stakes so the mind boggles at what sort of incentive you could offer!.

If my missus is prepared to go out on a cold rainy night to cheer on my losing football team, and her only complaint is that she'd like a better view of the game, I'll take that as a result.

I went to my first Tigers game at Leichhardt after loving this team for 22 years on Sat night, took the old man who is a passionate supporter also. This was only his 2nd time in the 60 years he has supported the club. As soon as I walked into to the ground and saw that hill, and all the tigers colours, you couldnt wipe the smile off my face. Dads biggest ambition from the game was to sit near the old score board and eat a "Wayne Pearce" hotdog as he called it. He got to do both. Although the result from the game wasen't what Dad and I wanted, we loved it. So good to be among so many proud tigers supporters. It felt like I found a new home…hope to attend more games this year and wear those tigers colours with pride.

Glad you had a great experience… She is a mighty site in full flight and when the day comes that the Tigers no longer play there, Rugby League will be the loser.
 
Agree Tiger Watto…..10,000 crowd there, bigger then my home town. Can't wait to attend when there are 20,000

These are the stories we forget when the majority here are in our soap boxes. Just people turning up wanting to watch some footy. Agree, shame about the result, but hope it inspires you to get to a few more next year.

Anyone know what is was , was hoping it was "Sack Sheens" but it wasn't that
 
Great to hear mate, I haven't had the enjoyment of attending a game at Leichardt or Campbeltown but planning to go down for a weekend next year to enjoy a game. Might have to wait to see how the boys do next year before though.
