Pat Politoni

I'm surprised not much has been mentioned about this bloke, i just watched more video of our trial and thought he was really good, if god forbid Farah goes down this fella looks like he can slot in no problem.
I thought his service was excellent and he was everywhere in defence. We have great depth in all positions this season, hopefully we don't have to call on it but if we do i'm already confident all the guys are up to competing at first grade level.
Cant help but get excited about this team this year but still remembering "We are the Tigers" and i'm sure we will be pulling our hair out and throwing things alot this year just like every other, while desperately gripping onto this roller coaster of a football team.
I wouldn't want it any other way.

After seeing Fulton at dummy-half, I felt we were way to slow… Pat just needs more time around the boys off the field and I think he will be a handy back-up.

I agree Watto, the service was far too slow with Fulton at Hooker.

I thought Pat was a similar player to Robbie and his speed was very good. How long did he get in that trial? It didn't seem like long enough to me.

Well Politoni is the number 2 hooker at the club. I'd play him at 9 ahead of Fulton if Farah is injured or away on rep duty.

C'mon Watto give the guy a break When was the last time he has played hooker It is a position you need to work at for a while to get your timing and feel

You guys can be a bit rough on blokes Sometimes I swear with some comments I read that blokes have no comprehension of what it is like to interchange positions especially when its not even a 2nd or 3rd choice position for the particular player and at that standard of football . :unamused:

It's a specialist position Happy… The competition starts in 2 weeks. You might be happy to wait until 2017 for a premiership while Gerry the Giraffe gets up to speed, but I'd like to win one this year.

Outside of Politoni, does anyone think Miller could move to Nine?

For Christ sake Watto, dont give Sheens any ideas !!! he"s the reason we haven"t won one in 7 years..

Which is the exact point I am making Watto Sheens probably told him a week before that he had the job
It takes more than a week to feel comfortable in the position , learn any calls we have etc etc etc

Give him two or three weeks and he would feel far more comfortable and confident in the handling the job as a back up to Farah if required and would perform far better

Anyway he wouldn't have matched Happy's effort with the one and only scrum he packed into

Won it against the feed :sunglasses:

Does anybody know if Chris Corby or Dean Parata are still with the club?

Fulton is not suited to dummy half, he has a huge wind up on every pass (whether at dummy half or any where else) he is an excellent back rower, and to move him is folly. If we lose Farah, we need a specialist, Politani looks a more than adequate back up

Must admit Fults service at Dummy was ordinary…. He was slow and His passes were all over the shop!!
It was ugly to watch... But still in his time on our go forward was MASSIVE!!
All I could think of... What if Robbie was on the park??
I think Even I under estimated how much our go forward has improved!!
Not just with Blair, But Woodsy was strolling up the park with reckless abandon at times as well....
With Robbie fit and Firing.... I don't shudder to think of the possibilites

Pretty sure they are. I think Parata is in the rehab group. Smoking Gun, Tiger99 or Blackandwhite may be able to confirm.

oh, has it been longer than 7 years ??

If you think Sheens is to blame for the Tigers failing to go the distance in 2010 and 2011 then you seriously should give it away.

yeah i do blame sheens, all year having a back on the bench getting 3 mins of game time ,selecting players out of position, not dropping players that wern"t preforming, We should have finished a lot higher on the laddder in the past 3 years than what we did. LIKE i say we have the players to win the comp, now it comes down to the coach.!
