Pat Richard Returns

Haven't seen him play over there so can't say if its either a good or bad signing. One things for sure though, this spells the end for Utai and Lote

I for one am thrilled. He is a fantastic footballer and age hasn't wearied him in the slightest. Awesome goal kicker, excellent finisher, big, strong, awesome under the high ball. Just what we need.

Agreed mate, I also guess GNR4LIFE is right in that this may spell the end for utai and lote

Haven't seen him play since moving to England but brings back great memories. Anyone have any highlights videos of his performances in ESL?

Wests Tigers is pleased to announce the signing of former premiership winning winger Pat Richards to a two-year contract from 2014.

Richards was a member of the inaugural 2005 Wests Tigers premiership winning side. He featured in arguably one of the most memorable moments in Grand Final history when he received a magical flick pass from Benji Marshall and went on to score a superb try.

In 2005, Richards scored a then club record of 20 tries in a season for Wests Tigers. He scored 26 tries in 39 games for Wests Tigers from 2004-2005.

Richards left Wests Tigers at the end of 2005 to join Wigan where he has been a revelation in the English Super League. Richards has been the top points scorer in the Super League on four occasions. He is currently the competition’s leading points scorer this season.

Richards said he is very excited to be returning to the NRL with the Wests Tigers, a Club close to his heart.

“I have some incredible memories from my time previously at the Club,’’ Richards said.

“The premiership success in 2005 created a special bond amongst the players and with the supporters.

“I can’t wait to reunite with the likes of Robbie Farah, Benji Marshall and Liam Fulton and to proudly pull on the Wests Tigers jersey again.”

My only concerns are his age, and what to do with the likes of Nofoaluma.

He'll be 32 when he commences with us.

"He's been outstanding for me, his form this season has been the best I've known it in terms of consistency and this is a chance for me to repay him and support him."

Richards, Super League's Man of Steel in 2010, has scored 132 points in the first 10 matches - with nine tries and 48 goals - to top the Super League scoring chart.

Sounds good to me. Three time ESL leading pointscorer, Man of Steel and in career best form. A good signing indeed.

I'm not so sure all (not on his signing )

Anyone remember the semi v Saints he was defending at centre while Benji was on the wing , he was doing a JOB on Gasnier

I reckon if you can defend at centre , he has the attack to play at centre why not centre ??

32 years old. Dreadful. Leaves me questioning my continued support for this club. First time I have ever felt this way in 28 years.

Nofo can cover center but the only problem is Lawrence won't get dropped. Why is everyone angry because of his age he is 31 and we signed Tuqiri when he was 30.

Hmmm. Unsure. He has been a FB at St Helens hasn't he?

Also is Koro even signed yet?

How can you question this signing? He is the same age as Jamie Lyon. 31 is not that old and he is in career best form indicating that age is not bothering him in the slightest. He is at his peak right now and plays a position we are short on.

He will be 32 when next season starts. Don't like this.

The mindset of this club is beyond me. 2005 was nine years ago next year and to parade this signing we are marketing it with "2005 grand final hero".

Call me negative or whatever but logic says signing a 32 year old winger on a two year desl who has spent the past 8 years in super league is a questionable deal.
