Good on the Maggies.

The history of both our foundation clubs is something we should celebrate and cherish more than we do.

For anyone sore that Magpies or Wests Tigers have turned their back on Campbelltown, direct your anger towards Wests leagues club at Campbelltown.

They have enormous financial capacity to support the club but walked away many years ago.

Probably lol at the council aswell. $10 for a 10 year lease for the soccer team, we never got that sorry of help.


Wow, if that is true then Campbo can go to hell. All this talk of Tigers "abandoning" Macarthur and what are they doing for the Macarthur, sometimes the love needs to be reciprocated.

100% true, they play $1 a year for 10 years and are still charging adults $45 to get in.

This move is mainly for the RMC side. The State Cup side will play selected games there. I would imagine those games would be against teams like Newtown.

If they are not scheduled on NRL game day to play and it's the Magpies home game it will be at Lidcombe v whom ever..is my understanding..

Again depending on scheduling the may be at Cambo Leichhardt or Bank West..for a home game..

As of now NRL and State Cup scheduling are still done by each body..NSWRL and NRL..whether that changes with V'landys vision for all 3 grades..not sure..

Oh ok - i just assumed that the State Cup side would play more of the foundation clubs there. So the State cup side may end up with more home grounds than the NRL side.

There used to be a joke about the hot dog guy at Lidcombe Oval hanging around outside the gates when the groundsman came around to lock up. Groundsman told him he may as well move on as crowd had gone and he was locking up. Hot Dog guy tells him he will stick around for awhile as Dallas hadn't come out yet.

Not sure if correct, but I think I heard quite a while back that the $1 a year deal was for the Bulls to take over responsibility for maintenance of the ground as part of the deal.

It's pretty obvious that we didn't stand a chance with that deal after Josh Aloiai packed up his lawn mower and headed for the Northern Beaches.

My point is...it 'seems' more effort has been put into creating interest in Tamworth than Campbelltown. And it 'seems' South's now have a pretty good presence in the Campbelltown area, even though WE have been playing there for 30 years.

I wonder if Wests Magpies moving back to Fortress Lidcombe is a strategic move to stop any confusion among the locals as to who their footie team actually is, obviously Wests Tigers. Michael Maguire did go on record recently saying 'how important the Campbelltown area' is to WT.
With the Magpies 'back home' in Lidcombe, a deal could possibly be done to re-brand the Magpies Leagues Club at Campbelltown as Wests Tigers Leagues Club.
