I think its great. Would be great if they can keep the tradition alive much like Newtown and Norths.

Maybe, but it feels weird to me. As I always associated Wests with Campbelltown. Yet I went for them and I always thought of my area as Lidcombe.

Hey if it works. It works. I do think Macarthur will be big like Penrith is now. So much is coming up in that suburb.

Lidcombe Oval was a happy hunting ground though.
Only been to Campbelltown a few times and the only Wests Tigers game I will go to now will probably be when We play the Knights in Newcastle, as I live in the Hunter region.

I read a bit this morning about Wests Tigers playing a match in Tamworth again this year, which is great. It went on to say how much effort had been put in creating interest in the area for Wests Tigers.
My point is...it 'seems' more effort has been put into creating interest in Tamworth than Campbelltown. And it 'seems' South's now have a pretty good presence in the Campbelltown area, even though WE have been playing there for 30 years.

I wonder if Wests Magpies moving back to Fortress Lidcombe is a strategic move to stop any confusion among the locals as to who their footie team actually is, obviously Wests Tigers. Michael Maguire did go on record recently saying 'how important the Campbelltown area' is to WT.
With the Magpies 'back home' in Lidcombe, a deal could possibly be done to re-brand the Magpies Leagues Club at Campbelltown as Wests Tigers Leagues Club.
In a couple of years if the Macarthur Soccer Team is going well, WE link with them to demand a new Stadium be built on the existing CSS site to hold 25,000 fans.
Surely the strength of '2 successful footy teams' demanding a Stadium has to carry more weight than just one team asking.

if anything the Lidcombe move links with Ashfield and COE at cincord and LO
renovated SFS looks good for permanent move

Lidcombe is closer to Bankwest

Cochise they already have parramatta at bankwest

I just spent the morning watching Northern division play against North Coast at Aberdeen. Really good morning of footy.

I imagine it would have been cold and wet there.

So was Geo and Hobbo....they didnt see much of the game....they were at the canteen all game ...eating pies....

You’ll be pumped being back at Lidcombe ..
You’ll be able to ride that tandem push bike in your Lycra pants with your weirdo mate happy tiger ?

To tell the truth Hobbo,I understand how we have made deals with the big stadia these days for monetary gain which we ALL need...
But because I was raised in the early years of the Winfield cup,we quite often ventured to the many home ground games, such as LO,Lidcombe,Belmore Oval,Henson park, heck even old Kograh Oval..but as we progress into the new millinium things change drastically and the young people of the forum and NRL followers only get to see what is before them...
Many a fantastic day was had at the powerhouse home grounds and it didnt matter whos ground it was,it was strictly TRIBAL and BRUTAL,that was the true era of Rugby League as I knew it....just a shame the younger people these days didnt get to live in those mad, crazy.but ever so talented player days...they were the players that built the foundation of what we have today, albeit with the many changes to our original game....

They already have the Roosters at the SFS.

no leagues club next door though cochise and sfa has traditionally been shared roosters and souths even us in 2010 to 2012 or something. it is not parramatta stadium roosters don't have supporters anyway

Don't go to the Leagues Club and it doesn't matter.

I don't - don't go to Bankwest either....problem solved for me.

Geez, I remember Graham Wynn playing his last years with Wests Magpies - and thinking of the concussion laws in play now - Graham suffered some massive hits.
