I hope the club rewards our top performing NSW Cup players with opportunities for next season, either bottom-end top 30, development or T&T again.

In no particular order are our best & most consistent 5 not on a dev or top 30 currently …

Jaxson Rahme
Peter Taateo
Izaak Tui’tupou
Krystian Mapapalangi
Charlie Murray

Out of our top-aged Flegg players, I hope we retain Tino Tavana & Josese Lanyon as musts. Elijah Maataale still a watch. Most others are still Flegg eligible next season.

Thoughts @Vicious @Tigers_Wests @Dr_Ice @boonboon @Bellend @TV Ted Ellery @balmain boy @Demps & other regular Cup|Flegg watchers?
Yeah I agree with your players identified from Cup to hopefully stick around. Would hope most of the 5 could be put to train and trial. Wouldn't be upset to see Mapapalangi on a Dev contract, as he could definitely be an option for NRL if needed. I imagine Taateo would have something for 2026 otherwise it would be a strange move to come over from Raiders when he did.

I think the majority of current cup players without a contract from next year will be moving on (Porter, Feledy, Lobb, El Zakem, Jack, plus others).

Out of the Flegg boys moving up and out of Flegg range, Tavana is the absolute must of the lot. Straight away into development contract for mine. The guy has x factor and plenty of it! Lanyon and Mataale are both good shouts for a train and trial. Liles is the other one I would be keen to see get something for next year at Cup level. I really like what he has to offer and would like to see him develop his game further under an nrl pre-season.

Sakuru is a damaging runner and hit hard in defence . Hooker Hayward looks sharp and has some height . When he fills out he could go well . Seems at a similar level to liddle , da silva at the same age . Agree on younger guys liles and tannous for the future . Rooster were a much bigger team than us and wore us down . Tavana is very sharp but needs to fill out a bit
Tuitupo Thompson looks very good for the magpies
The hooker was no 18 , listed as Eiiden Ackland .Played really well . Where did he come from ?

Little write up about Ackland.

Joe Lovodua was our hooker yesterday.

Eiden Ackland played halfback in Ron Massey Cup scoring 3 tries.

Often the team & numbers listed on the Tuesday will change when the final list is published one hour out from match start.

well no18 certainly wasn’t Ackland as he was a islander or indigenous lad . Gee that’s inefficient and annoying for fans
The player you are referring to was Joe Lovodua who is of Fijian descent and has been playing in our 3rd tier Ryde-Eastwood Hawks Ron Massey Cup team for most of the season .
He’s a journeyman who’s been with a few different NRL clubs in the lower grades and has recently spent some time playing in the UK.
He’s nothing special and his passing from dummy half is a little bit wayward, but he does have a physical presence about him,

I agree with you. Rahme the most unusual that at such a young age he has already been in open age reserve grade a few years. Does this mean he has a good platform to go to the next level or is he at his ceiling already? I would take the risk and give him a chance.

What is the contract status of Saukuru? I know he was put into top 30 before he deserved it but now showing more consistency in the backrow and hate to lose him now.

While Broedeow has his moments, don’t think he can make it as a regular NRL player.

I know you mentioned top aged Flegg players, but have been impressed with Logan Deininher in Ball and now Flegg

I don’t like to write off young players as they can always improve and prove their doubters wrong, but Broederlow gets a bath when opposed to any decent Flegg aged back rowers, he’s a million miles from being an NRL player at the moment.
