Agree that Makasini should have played a lot more Cup this year but that said, he was very good in his few Cup games last year and it wasn't undeserved that he got an NRL game late last year.

Piss poor try line defence twice on big Josh Kerr. After a good start, a lack of respect for the football costly. Going to call out the offload happy Ethan Roberts for two poor offloads costing us possession. 1st try was a bad read on on right side (Liles, To’a) & 4th try was a lucky grubber deflection to a Dragons player.

Young Roberts has a stack of ability, but surely our coaching staff need to be advising him to simplify his game and use his big frame to simply run harder and tackle harder than his opponents and minimise the fancy stuff.

yep Macca on the wing be solid in 2027
Today our ladies need to get back to basics again , defend and turn them around kick it down field , to much time in our end at present , send it down field and chase hard

Watched the highlights of his tries, not extremely impressive, a couple of palm offs, no real solo brilliance, mostly just finishes.
I've watched the game twice now, 2nd time with a focus. Makasini was exceptional, he can only play what's in front of him & showed he can be a class finisher. Defused a couple of defensive high kicks and actually made a break off one. Great confidence builder for the kid.

Andrews was his usual dominant self. Just brings composure & has the air of class and confidence about him. A couple of beautiful try assists including a lovely right to left cut-out pass to Maksini. I also love how the halves especially Javon use their backrowers off shape in attack - either their natural instincts or coached by Tyrone McCarthy.

The more I watch this team, the more I like some of the shape & quick ptb systems Tyrone has coached into them. Maybe he is a candidate to progress to NRL assistant (attack)???

Attard was also one of our best as were Aho who really stood up against the big Dragons pack and Skelton played like an NRL player should in this grade.

We lost because of some poor inability to stop Josh Kerr close to the line TWICE and a 3rd time he was able to release an offload for an ensuing try. A lot of players at fault for these (Taateo, Roberts, Attard, Andrews to name a few).

Jury still out for mine on Taateo and Roberts very much a rocks'n diamonds player with his inexperience atm. The ingredients are there, just needs to curb his instinct to offload at times and continue to work on his strength in D. He'll get there.

But Aho, week-in week-out performs for this team on both sides of the ball. If he is not given an NRL pre-season T&T at the very least, I'll give the game away.
