Yep.
And given that Edwards played hurt Laurie may have played in a winning Grand Final.

Tonight showed that Benji should call it quits.

I don't think he is going to, will hang around hoping for a contract.

The set after they scored their last try, he threw an atrocious pass that he was very lucky didn’t turnover possession.

I can't really rag on him too much for it lol, if I had a chance to play one more year of footy I would. Changes your life when you stop.

I can, I think he truly believes he still has it. He doesn’t. He doesn’t realise he’s been able to hide all his deficiencies behind a strong team.

Yeah he 100% believes he still has it, he has been told all his life how good he is. Do you think those close to him have stopped telling him that? And the ones that did he stops listening to and listens more to the ones still telling him what he wants to hear. He is still that kid that burst onto the scenes years ago and likely suffers from peter pan syndrome. He gives up footy and all that goes away. I honestly get it.

Willie Mason was the same late in his career. Playing on till his mid to late 30’s. Can’t step out of the limelight.

The limelight, plus the only place they have really made friends. It is also the only thing they have known for most of their lives. Really hard things to give up and some do it better than others. Its also why he comes across dirty on the tigers as they told him he was done and he is not ready for that, can't accept it.

I will also state this is all from the outside looking in and I could be completely wrong lol.

The club has to take some responisibility for it too, as we encouraged him to grow up that way, made excuses for him etc.

To be fair if he jumps on a plane to the other side of the world , he could probably get 2 years , and look a million bucks doing it .

We are such a stupid club. Momirovski was too good for us. He was vital in many games for Penrith at centre. He's such a quality finisher and was so at our club too.

I completely disagree. Even if we had Laurie and Momirovski playing for us, we would still be finishing between 11-14. Momo is a solid player and has definitely lifted this year behind one of the fittesy and most confident team in recent memory. He wouldn't have been this good for us.

This!
I have been sitting on the fence re Maguire, but not any more.
Maguire asks us all to be patient, "we're building a team, it takes time." The Momirovski trade flies in the face of that.
If we had waited, we would have two good players, not one, next season.
It looks to me like Maguire was chasing some instant gratification instead of patiently building (getting it right) and as a result made a questionable retention decision. The fact that Momirovski can walk straight into the starting 17 of a now premiership side tells me that Maguire missed something there.
That is, of course, unless the decision came from above.
