Canterbury Coach Kevin Moore has named a full strength squad minus the injured **Corey Payne**, who along with reserve grade fullback Nick Taylor sustained **season ending injuries** during the Bulldogs trial matches against the Dragons last weekend. **Payne requires a shoulder reconstruction** and Taylor requires a knee reconstruction.

Looking for info on the trial teams for the weekend …came across this,,,,

Geez....What the hell is going on with our Ex-Tigers......Tagive, Collis and now The Payne.....

You'd have to be questioning the Medical staff of these Clubs.........

Look out Danny, J Mo and Kapow....

lol, so much for "DR DEATH" Kuah
obviously he was doing a good job after all

Really? What makes you so sure. I reckon that's game set match on Corey Payne's career tbh. Reserve grader for the rest of time now methinks.

Bulldogs recruits Dene Halatau and Corey Payne sidelined through injury

Canterbury suffer two injury blows before a ball has even been kicked this NRL season, with new recruits Dene Halatau and Corey Payne sidelined for lengthy periods.

Backrower Payne is likely to require surgery and could be gone for the season after rupturing his left shoulder in last week's trial match against St George Illawarra.

New Zealand international Halatau picked up an ankle problem after being kicked against the Dragons, and is expected to miss the first two months of the competition.

Bulldogs assistant Terry Lamb said it was a terrible shame for both players, who were looking for new opportunities after joining from the Wests Tigers.

"They trained well, put in three or four months of hard training and get put out," Lamb said.

"But they'll be back, that's important for us.

"That's important for the future."

Yeah but he did have quite a few years to prove people wrong. After 2005 I thought he was going to be an awesome lock forward but it didn't turn out that way at Wests. It is sad to see him leave though because he is a good guy.
