Pearce to dragons 2013?

After missing out on Cooper Cronk, St George Illawarra Dragons officials are believed to have identified Mitchell Pearce as their next big-name halfback target.

Pearce, who appears set to retain the NSW No.7 jersey for Origin I, is off contract with Sydney Roosters at the end of next season and Sin Bin has been told the Dragons are already planning to make a bid for him.

That would coincide with the anticipated retirement of St George Illawarra captain Ben Hornby, who will continue to play halfback for the club next season after Cronk’s recent decision to remain with Melbourne.
