Penalty try, advise

watching the game on fri night, when Benji was running to score his try, I observed that a bottle or similar type of object was thrown at him whilst ran near the north western sideline( running towards paddington end of the ground) as he approached the bulldogs try line.

If the object hit Benji and stopped him from scoring the try, what would the ruling be?

would it be a penalty try, a possible, 8 point as someone from outside the field of play has intervened?

it would be awarded a try but not a penalty try

If that happened, would supporters start throwing things at their own players to ensure the try?

It would be awarded as a try. An 8 pt penalty try can only apply if the player scoring a try is affected by the actions of another player at the same moment that the ball is forced in the in goal area.

Only if whoever chuked the object jumped the fence ran over to Benji and slid his knees into his back but didn't hit benjis back then benji rolled around like the person hit his back then got up and kicked two goals.
Yes that would be a 8 point try.
