The Pearce / dog incident was a ridiculous overreaction. I still cannot believe he got suspended for 6 (or was it 8?) weeks for that. He was drunk and acting like a goose. No one was hurt (yes, that includes the dog) and nothing illegal.

Comletely agree,was done in a private environment and had nothing to do with the NRL.If it was a donkeys player nothing would have happened.

It totally destroyed their season though and it was great viewing to watch them finish 15th that year.

The Carney incident as well, way overplayed. Made him look like a goose for sure but that's it. hardly deserved to have his career ended by it. Matt Lodge has been allowed to come back and play in the NRL after what he did in USA but Carney rubbed out.
