I just read that a old friend of mine pasted away , PERCY KNIGHT , we went to school together in condobline , Percy played some great games for the Balmain tigers , rest in piece old friend
Percy had freakish skills. From memory he came to Balmain the same season as Larry Corowa. He bounced a lot between reserves and first grade. On his day like most indigenous player he could do things that you thought were impossible.
Wests Tigers are saddened to learn of the passing of former Balmain half Percy Knight.
A product of Condobolin in the NSW Central West, Knight joined Balmain in 1978 after representing NSW Country against Great Britain the year prior.
He played 64 first-grade games for the Tigers between 1978-82.
Knight also starred in the 1978 NSWRFL Reserve Grade Grand Final, which Balmain won 10-5 over St George and played in the midweek Tooth Cup Final of 1980, which the Tigers lost 8-5 to Parramatta.
The talented playmaker went on to sign for the Canberra Raiders ahead of the 1983 season, featuring in 22 matches in his two seasons there.
All at Wests Tigers would like to offer our condolences to Percy's family and friends.
