Holy crap Ayshford is playing terrrible! Fulton did a good job defending at the start of the game. I think I heard the commentator say he made 18 or so tackles in the first 20-odd minutes.

not worth commenting on until corrected/updated.

always major discrepancies in the first draft.

there is no way beau & moltzen only made 36 metres each (not saying they made big yards, but surely more than that).

3\. Ayshford - 89 metres in attack, 14 tackles, 8 missed tackles

Those missed tackles…........that's awful

Penriths forwards got on top of us…their whole team made metres at will. This at home against team 15

defensively with the exception of the Kingston try I thought their goal line defence was really good….in the middle third of the field different story, especially on the fringes.

we were clearly undersized without Blair and Ellis. Basically only 2 legit props. We wont get dominated when we get Blair and Ellis back.

As for Ashyford i saw him miss Jennings three times in one run…does this count as 3 or 1 miss?

Player and team stats have been updated. Benji's stats are polarising…

Ayshford was good with the ball in hand but he has trouble defending a couple of players and needs to address it. Those players are Jennings and Hodges.

He gave Jennings too much time last night but I think part of that was trying not to rush out isolating the young pivot with him.

A learning curve but it didn't kill us in the end so all good

Anyone hear during the broadcast last night, they mentioned last week v Dogs, Sirro had something like 9 touches of the ball, while Marshall had 70 plus.

Yep, Benji effectively played Sirro out of last week's game, but there was a much better balance with Farah back in the side last night.

Yeah 70 is a lot , but the record is 110+ held by Darren Lockyer v the Tigers in 2006

THe stats show we arent really a top 8 team. In my view, playing a team like Penrith, we should be winning by at least 18

Utai has the most metres

Benji has the most missed tackles, with Ayshford.

Other than Utai, only Woods and Rino made more than 100m.

Hopefully when Ellis and Blair returns it will be better (although we lose big Keefy)

Too true, they are really ordinary stats.

Not a fan of stats at all and think they show nothing.

Think about it.. some example are Heighno, he can look good on paper making well over 100metres, but it doesnt show his average metre gain per run. He makes more metres cos he has more runs. And before anyone says "but we whos going to make those runs if hes not there"…..do u really think no one would be there to take the run?

As for missed tackles....well that can so often be decieving. For example, a player can miss many tackles but in actual fact said player can be caught in a position where he does a great job in helping shut down a play when we are short but actually misses the tackle and a team mate is able to make the tackle due to the pressure put on by the player that gets marked down as missing the tackle. The best way to judge a players defence is if they miss those one on one tackles that lead to lone breaks or tries. Because so often, someone like Ayshford can miss a tackle, but it sbecause they have to make a certain play knowing they will miss but it will give their inside or outside man a chance to make the tackle.

Thats why i hate stats and hate players who clearly base their game around numbers and not whats best for the team.

The other thing with the total metres, if you take out Heighington's try, where he was put into a yawning hole, how many metres did he make? I was delighted he scored, of course, but just saying that when he has defenders in front of him, he struggles to go forward…
