Dont get me wrong, I think May is a total toolbag and I have zero sympathy for him, but it strikes me that this incident would have to be the most innocuous that anyone has had their contract torn up for.

I would have punted him for his 2019 conviction but having cast a blind eye over that, THIS is what you punt him for? I guess it all adds up but it seems to me there imght be more that meets the eye.

Tyrone May was today sacked by Penrith Panthers for his Instagram post following the grand final. Never mind that they could and should have sacked him two years ago for the sex tape incident (which he was *convicted*, not accused or found not guilty...he is legally a sex offender).

Nathan Cleary then posts this in support of the sex offender. Holy crapbaskets. The Clearys and the Panthers truly have no moral compass. I mean this is just facepalm stuff. How stupid is Nathan Cleary?

Is this post from now, or back then?

A good indication of the Cleary's moral compass is that May is knocking boots with Nathans sister

Just now, like an hour after May was sacked.

Hey Natty ...he has ya sista broseph ....

Can someone give me a recap on this May thing? I was actually under the impression that he was the victim? Must be wrong...

Panthers just getting their salary cap sorted out in a sly way.

Cleary might have a football brain on the field - that's clearly where it stays at the end of the game.

Waiting for the article to condemn Clearys endorsement of May. He’s all chin and no brains that bloke

Yup - only this time its convenient for Penrith to get rid of him.

He's a dropkick, and a useless player who won't see first grade again. Was only there because of the Cleary's.

He was convicted of filming and sharing around a sex tape of himself and a woman without the woman's permission.

Was fined + made to do 300 hours of community service and only narrowly avoided jail.

Then after the GF win, he posted a photo of himself outside the courthouse with song lyrics as the caption that were basically implying that he was hard done by but no one can keep him down etc.

He's a pig.

Makes sense but was he actually convincted, were the records sealed etc? Would love to know what the actual legal result was.

If he was actually convicted, a fine and community service is a really unjust punishment for this. Definitely should have done time and again if he was convicted- how did the NRL let him back?

The tweet to me is not even 0.01% of the actual crime.. how can you be sacked for the tweet but not the crime..

He was convicted at Parramatta Local Court in January 2020.

Pled guilty to four counts of intentionally recording an intimate image without consent.

"Magistrate Robyn Denes today sentenced May to 300 hours of community service, as well as psychological intervention, during his three-year community corrections order."

Agree that he should've done time, the guy's a rat.

Yeh just read up on it.

The NRL is just stupid. How do you register someone like this within a year. I can't believe he's sacked for the tweet and was allowed back with full pay for the actual crime.

Yes he was actually convicted.

Then straight after the 2021 grand final on either the Monday or Tuesday, he posted this to his Instagram page (referencing his court case):

Junior Jaw might be a good footballer but he must have the IQ of a house brick. Time after time he puts himself in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons. Ivan should be giving him a major dressing down, but it would appear young Nathan can do what he wants

Ivan's hardly a bloke who can lecture on morals. He's a maggot. In this case it looks like Junior Maggot hasn't wriggled far from the flyblown carcass of his old man.

Penrith were about to sign him to a new contract. The only reason they didn't is because people were up in arms and spammed their sponsors with complaints. If it weren't for the people he would be play again next season.

Wonder how the relationship between Iv and his daughter is going now ......strained to say the least I'd say ....

Sign him. As a bog average half will likely be a step up from what we have in a weeks time.

Maybe he can bring his best mate (it almost worked last time with his dad)
