That Elliott can get himself in a pickle can’t he! Good player on his day.

I’ve heard them called many things in my time but Pickle is a new one

Thought I’d bring a bit of Shakespeare to the place ?

The course of true love never did run smooth with the dogs?

All that glitters is not gold .....

Blonde ...

Shakespeare ...that only smart bloke ever from your country

Have you got the Sullivans yet?

You know he wont get the Sullivans,he is hooked on the Flying Doctors which was a good Aussie show,he watches them as much as his next favourite show....you know the one....the Flintstones....

Thunderbirds is my favourite show ...thank you

Interesting decision from the Bulldogs not to tear up Adam Elliot's contract. I also didn't know that Elliot is part of the doggies leadership group.

Gotta love how bookies think that because Dogs made a couple signings for '22 that they will be good this year. Yet their head office issues have not been resolved, their incoming coach has already tried and failed at another club, and then add in the continual off field indiscretions. Culture change at a club takes eons, we should know.

Tear up his contract because he shagged someone? - You're kidding right??
Lichaa isn't even a reserve grader anymore (He last played 4th grade)
Weather Elliot is mates with him is of no consequence to his job...
(I'm glad you're not my boss)
The fact Lichaa is a former player at the club - Also of no consequence.

Poor taste maybe, But hardly a jailable (or sackable) offence.

Sorry should have worded that better, I don't know if it's right or wrong to sack him. I wouldn't have thought the dogs would even be able to over this. What I meant was it will be interesting to see how their season unfolds as a result. If you can't trust the bloke defending inside you it's going to be a long season, and by the sounds of things his actions will piss a few of his team mates right off.

"It appears even against the club expectations, Adam Elliott will be remaining at the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs after the club made the call to not tear up his contract."

Jack De Belin banned for 3 years, & still awaiting another trial for cheating on his missus, this bloke cops a fine, & is free to play... So inconsistent

Yeah apples and oranges TF... de Belin was on rape charges.

Elliot hasn’t been accused of raping a woman .

For me, I think the damage will be, splitting the side, on for and against this. Don’t know either of there stories, but Lichaa did play there and will still have some mates who wouldn’t be happy with Elliot.

Will take all of Barrett’s skill to get around this (if he can) I reckon.

Didn't (allegedly) something similar happen between Cronk and Cam Smith and one of their partners? I thought I read it did, and even Storm didn't keep them together, Cronk left.

So good luck Doggies.

I read it at school and found it a great read, but it's tooooo many years ago to remember the characters.

Yep he is

Thanks Boss...can you remind me what his character was?

I'm actually quite stunned by how low key this Brent Naden situation is.
How soft has the game become on recreational drugs?

The guy breaks covid lock down on the eve of the GRAND FINAL to do coke. His punishment?

Miss 1 month of pre season training and a 5k fine from the nrl.
Penrith have dropped him for 4 games but only a 20k fine suspended. Pathetic

I doubt this is much of a detterant for younger players dabbling in this stuff.

I remember an ecstasy pill virtually cost McGuiness and Field their careers!

I think drug use is not as trivial as it once was. Yeah, there's still a lot of people who don't like it, but I think there's a bigger shift to personal freedoms to do them. That's just my take on things.

And some papers made Ivan look like a hero for deciding to stand down the player when he didn't have to, despite other papers saying Naden himself decided to stand down.

Absolutely, it stinks to the higher heavens. I would bet money that if it was a player from Dogs/Dragons/Tigers, it would be a lot more seriously dealt with by the media and NRL. (And I don't usually bet money.)

It was mentioned just earlier on the radio that the WADA or ASADA ‘can’t remember which’ laws have changed where as now if the drug taking is proven not to have a performance benefit. The fine / backdated suspension he received (excluding the Panthers punishment) is correct as policy.

I'm no expert, but aren't some drugs like cocaine illegal?

If you test positive in a professional sport, shouldn't the police be notified and charges laid?

Or maybe it's just illegal to sell the stuff, not to use it?

Elliott did not deserve to be sacked but he will very unpopular with his team mates.Nobody would want a sleaze like him around their wives/girl friends.
Very happy we didnt get him here because team harmony plays a big part on the field

Agree
But let's not forget it takes two to tango
If it wasn't Elliot it could have quite easily been someone else
It wont end good for Elliot
Nor should it
Didn't the same thing happen with Trent Merin and Sally Fitzgibbon
Some dirty bugger at Penrith
Some people just don't have any morals

Not only that, the biggest problem with players on any substance when out and about or even at home is alcohol and the modernised punishments are much more in line with today's expectations of society.

IMO That is not the full story. That change in the WADA regulations came in 01/01/2021, but the offence preceded it. He should have been punished under the old rules.

With so many good, respectful and well mannered players in rugby league, we don't need this type of behaviour. It seems to me both Elliott and Lichaa's wife should have been honest with both their respective partners. I feel for them and their children.
