That is how it should be. We need to identify the best of the young talent, especially young backs with genuine pace, on the cusp of the NRL. Let them grow into our young team, not grow out of it at the back end of careers.

James Graham for $400,000 I would say Yes. He brings a fair bit of experience and pride to the sides he plays. 500k, Hmm I would have to think about it, I would not pay more then 500K because of his injuries.

Mine is that when he played for us he was a dud. I like players that pass the ball - he hardly ever did that for us - couldn't tell you how many tries he bombed because he didn't - has improved slightly at the Tiger sharks. Still would not take him back for nothing, even if he had played 600 games. That is my opinion - we do not have to agree and you obviously don't.

Though I do suspect he was often playing to coaches orders. Players like Heighno & Bronson Harrison suddenly showed some skills when they joined new clubs. Heighington was often aimed wearing markers out.

They will bleed the game dry. With ratings on the slide, game attendance on the slide and general interest on the slide maybe the next TV deal will not be anywhere near what is needed to fund the players demands.

I guess they see what the cricketers did and think they can do the same. Sadly they are not interested in grass roots just their own back pockets

I skimmed through an article about that and the RLPA rejection was not just about $$$$ they mentioned education, insurance and stuff like that not where they want it to be.

I am a close mate with one of the players and his main issue is the support offerred at the grassroot levels. Up until RM level, there is no professional help in terms of physios, EPs, trainers etc. Compare that to soccer where there are qualified personnel right from the bottom grades of NPL.

i dont have much knowledge about what the 9.4M entails but sometimes that's including "benefits". so e.g. 9.4 would've included 1.2M of additional personnel, insurance, education schemes etc where the clubs probably can't compromise on player wages because they need to show the money to attract players but can cut the "benefits" to lower running costs.

i dont have much knowledge regarding this matter, just hazarding a guess here.

That will be their reality, because the games revenue will go down not up in the short term at least.
So be careful what you ask for, you may just get it, kind of like Woodsy
