Player signings around the Grounds

Contracts these days seem to be written on cornflake boxes and are just as long lasting. There are many faults from both sides with players walking out and clubs removing unwanted players.I know i am an old traditionalist in this matter but is very mercenary and dosent promote loyalty from either party.
The majority of fans at all clubs are the only ones who show loyalty these days.Such is life.

The NRL should be looking to strengthen contracts with some sort of clause in it that states
3 year deal , you are locked in to this for 3 full seasons , if you pull out you do not get paid and you can't play for another NRL side until the contract is completed , the club also reduces its cap amount by that players amount so he can be replaced
If the contract is for 3 years there should be no options for either party for early release .
If a player is injured and out for the season he will get paid but the club should be able to take his payment out of the cap and replace him with a player in the lower grades with no penalty as long as it is not more than the injured players money , it is a buisness now and loyalty has gone out the window but the system in place is very poor .
The Wests Tigers are going to have a big job retaining our gun players and we are not 100 percent certain we will sign all of them so when you do sign a gun you want to keep him for the whole time ,

In theory it's a good idea, but it doesn't really reflect the real world. Contracts of management, subbies etc are constantly renegotiated and/or terminated before the original contract period expires because things change in the market. Rugby League is no different. As long as the terms of the contract are upheld and players are not left short changed if a club wants to move them on, or a player obliges by their terms if a club refuses to release them then there is no issue. To secure a release, the renegotiated terms of the contract must be agreed to by both parties.

Exactly why we need a 1 month transfer period every season around SOO time

You need a back rower , we need a centre , lets talk …....

So simple

Like others a mid season window like in EPL would be a good idea, also I like the idea of a loan system, where you can load a player for a season or part of a season. Of course salary cap rules would have to be observed.

As for contracts being broken with mutual consent being a blight on the game,it happens everywhere and you will never change it. 99% of players are the winners when they are shopped around, but not all clubs end up the winning out of the deal

I see on FSN that the Roosters have extended young Conner Watson until the end of 2018..

So that means they'll have Keary Watson and Moses playing 6 ..Teddy Mitchell and Cruizer playing fullback …building nicely..

Hopefully Egan will have two offices and hopefully the NRL auditors don't find the 2nd "Unofficial" office at that unnamed storage block

Hastings & Pearce means no shortage of spine players

Why would he sign for Manly??? DCE and Blake Green will be the 7 and 6 unless they plan to use him as a no14\. Would have thought he would head back to the Dragons, but maybe he was not wanted, have heard he is a bit of a d-head

Maybe a backup for the halves or number 9.

Manly are all over the shop. Only one genuine half last year (DCE), so they played a pack of ill-suited jokers throughout the year.
This year they've gone out and signed 3 halves - Green, Cullen and now Hastings.

Throw that in with the upheaval elsewhere in their squad, and it really seems they're making it up as they go along.

Bradford Bulls just went into liquidation.
I know they were in the 2nd tier, but is there anyone there we should be looking at?

Might as well sign a couple players from Ron Massey Cup. Would be about the same level.
