I think the under-use of Ava has been woeful, especially tonight. He provided superb go forward and PTB speed

Blair 37 metres? Surely not… If so that's some weak involvement. He seemed so much more involved ...

Agree I thought he played a much better game than that? Maybe had a lot of time off seeing as Anasta came on for him

Was waiting for his numbers….I think he went for a walk along the beach for a while

I can only imagine they'll change when updated. He certainly handled the ball plenty but perhaps played more a linking role when he was on in his second stint? The few carries I remember him making were certainly quality ones. But if those stats are legit it's pretty inexcusable.

Agree 100% Smeg, he's been good and deserves more of a run.

I rarely noticed him…..he's easily missable
He's another we need to punt...we have many

All I'm saying is, I thought our forwards were getting good go forward, especially when Woods (obviously), Blair, and Ava were taking it up

It's a pity that the four biggest name signings we've made in the past two years have pretty much all turned out to be effectively useless for our cause.

Pettybourne, Thompson, Anasta and Blair. None offer what we need and we'd be better off without all four of them both financially and I actually think we'd put a better team on the park notwithstanding the other players we could have signed/would sign.

Don't know why Ava didn't get more game time. His charges were quality I thought. Maybe he's struggling with fitness?

Ava played 30 minute stints in reggies twice a game. That should translate to more gametime then he got

To me blair looked intimidated by the cronulla forwards. He certainly did not roll his sleeves up or do anything noticeable. Maybe Gibbs and fifita are a little too scary for him.

His M.O is 1 acceptable game then 3 or 4 games of the garbage he served up last night. I truly believe we would be better with him off the bench or not there at all.

I suppose the positive is he had no missed tackles.

I thought Blair was good but most of his time on the field was in the first 20 when we didn't have the ball and when we did we generally only has 2 forward hit ups a set and one of them is always woods- so our other forwards only get 1 hit up every 4 or 5 sets generally. The quality of blairs defence, his work on the extra efforts and gap filling was great. I'm usually one to be critical of his work rate but tonight I think it's just a reflection of when he was on and what his role is. Also he had some really nice passes where he set up the bloke outside him for a better run and slipped a great offload to Fulton

And here are the updated stats. Woods may have been ordinary in the first half, but his stats certainly went up a lot in the second. Likewise for Farah.
