It's a bit of a catch 22 I think.
The club says they lose money playing at the traditional venues, but by playing at the SFS and SCG, I'm sure they lose members as well. I wouldve thought that if they did play at the traditional venues more, then more members would join, and more money would be made at the Leagues clubs which would surely nullify any loss incurred by playing at these suburban grounds.
I think a lot fans think, 'well they're playing 3/4 of our games out of my area why should I become a member?' before they even look at what deals are available.

Add to that, as has been said before, play our games at the traditional venues = more wins = better season = more members and sponsors hopping on board.

Good point Jazza catch 22 it is.It would be interesting to get some maths on extra memberships at local venues compared to sfs cash with bigger crowds e.t.c

Id suggest that the profit we make out of having games elsewhere would be far out weigh any additional members from having all games at the traditional grounds. In fact, you could easily make an argument that having the games at the sfs actually improves memberships…..because if half the game were at campbelltown, i certainly wouldnt be committing myself to full memberships. But with games at Leichhardt and SFS and other more convenient places than Campbelltown there is value in buying the membership.

That may be true in the short term, but by staying away from your true fan/market base, you are not giving it a chance to grow like it should. Add to that, by making the Leagues clubs the healthier, the more chance they have of not only surviving, but growing themselves which would surely be financially beneficial for Wests Tigers in the future.
I can see from your point of view it could be beneficial where we play. But, in saying that, there are people who live out at Campbelltown and dont like the thought of being a member and still having to travel to the SFS from Campbelltown.
So that nullifies what you are saying, if more matches are played at the suburban grounds, not only would you still get those members from Balmain (Because an extra 2 matches are being played there), but you would then get the extra members from Campbelltown too.

They have 50% game memberships anyway, so even if half the games were at Cambo, those pretend supporters that conditionally only support the team by ground are accommodated

If we played all our games at Campbelltown and Leichhardt we would probably win more games and that will bring in larger crowds anyway.

I haven't got my 2010 membership yet. I'm not sure if I should get the 12 games general admission or one of the other ones.

Play at CSS/LO, where the maximum crowd you can get is 20,000 - that makes sense…....not!

What do we say to the 10,000 or so that get left at the gates for the big games, "don't support your because some of our fans don't want our club to grow and want to only play at the relics that are Campbelltown and Leichhardt".

The balance the club have for 2010 is the best balance possible. In the years ahead we will get at least one of the big 6 Sydney teams at our traditional grounds - the likes of Roosters, Manly, Bulldogs etc. That is a good compromise.

A plan to play all games at grounds that only hold 20,000 - IS A PLAN TO FAIL!!!!

22,000 actually

and I kind of agree with you. it's not good for some supporters to miss out. Hopefully Campbelltown gets the 40,000+ seat stadium if Australia win the 2018 or 2022 soccer world cup bid next year. Then we can play all the home games at the new Campbelltown Stadium which would be the best Rugby League stadium in NSW.

Even some of the players would rather play all home games at Campbelltown and Leichhardt. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x3ck8e_2008-wt-jersey-scg-launch_sport" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

And the people that would miss out on tickets would probably be mostly fans from the other teams

It would also give fans another reason to get a season memebership so they wont miss out on a tickets

Has anyone got there members pack yet?
Or does anyone know when they are sending them out?
Cheers

Membership packs have not been distributed yet.

I don't have my confirmation letter in front of me but I think that ballparked the times.
