Players that need to be axed that won't be

Did anyone else notice Benji's body language when he came down the tunnell before the game. He walked - slowly - and hardly touched the kids hands as they put them out. I knew then that he was not going to give it a shot.

Anasta was very bad, but at least he tried.
 
I think that it is about time to stop sugar coating the Wests Tigers. What frustrates me is that Potter got tough with Benji but is too frightened to drop protected players like Lawrence, Tedesco, Anasta and Ayshford. Thts sort of action from Potter is just one of the reasons why Wests Tigers stocks have plummeted so much in 2013\. Another reason is that the CEO refuses to believe that we need new high quality experienced players now not in 2015\. We are only one step away from the level of Parra's form during 2012/13\. Roll on to 2014?
 
I think Greg Alexander hit the nail on the head, Lawrence looked like he had cement in his shoes, very slow and pedestrian - either move into the back row or flick him.

Anasata - wow he was terrible, did nothing right, terrible passes when they needed to be direct.

Tedesco, will give him a few games next year, definitely not the next Billy Slater as touted.
 
People seem to be misunderstanding this whole "Teddy is the next Slater" stuff.

it was never about him taking over the Slater mantle of greatest footballer. It was about their skills, and how at a young age they were comparable.

Slater kicked on to greatness, saddling Tedesco with that burden is only being done by the people who want to say "I told you so".
 
Teddy has plenty of time still to develop. He has a hell of a lot of ability and age on his side. He's still gonna turn into a gun.

Pros:
*Good under high ball
*Courageous
*Fast
*Has a decent pass
*Elusive
*Runs the ball back hard
*Backs up
*Looks for offloads
*Is a good tackler
*Not afraid to talk
*Better than Moltzen

Cons:
*Slips over a lot
*Gets caught out of position from time to time
*Gets knocked around
*Has an error in him
*Not quite elusive enough
*Hasn't learnt when to play the extra pivot role
*Not as good as Billy Slater

Some new shoes and one on one coaching with one of the best fullbacks of his era in Mick Potter in addition to some filling out and game time and he has plenty to work with. He's got a lot of the fullback ability that they say "you can't teach" about a lot. Granted he hasn't set the world on fire but he's shown a lot of good fullback qualities. I'd tip him to be a solid club level fullback with a chance to go further with a bit of luck, hard work and persistence from his coaches.

Like I said I am happy to give Tedesco more time, but I think we build our kids up to be the 'next big thing' and it does not happen, I can see the same with Brooks and Moses already.

There are a few others I would punt before Tedesco.
 
Anasta finally got his chance and butchered it. Look like some nervs got to him, I feel like we should stick to him in half seeing as siro is probably starting the change to 2nd row, I don't see Anasta having a game like he did tonight again.
Also behind the goal post he was pretty mad at himself and knew he screwed up unlike benji who yelled at others for his poor choices.

Pretty harsh on CL i think he has been playing well. Way better than ayshford, his quick passing game is really good. He needs an injury free off season and could be up there in the best centres I feel.

I hope teddy can get some form. I love how he is safe as a supporter and a swirling bomb goes up I'm pretty happy teddy is back defusing them. Needs some attack an some game plays/set plays with his halves

I'm not worried about Brooks and Moses tbh. Most people think Brooks is gonna be the star but Moses is one of the most dynamic attacking players I've ever seen and those types always go on with it to some degree. I don't think overrating them is going to make a difference as to whether they make it or not so I'll go on rating them thanks lol.

Same people every week with their anti Tedesco posts..GET over it Potter likes him and your little friend Moltzen won't be back.

He held up Watmough and Williams from scoring that seems like good positional play to me..plus no errors Unlike the senior players who the focus should be on.

Tedesco was one of our best tonight safe and reliable. I would look at giving some of the senior players time on the sidelines starting with Marshall and Ayshford don't even look like they want to be there.

It's his first season in FG (can't say that last season counts) and he's coming back from a knee reco. On top of that the halves in front of him didn't exactly do much to help the team last night, or for much of the season really. I'm not trying to make excuses for him but you have to be realistic - a player is not going to outshine everyone else or become the next Billy Slater as has been mentioned before after one season.

Unfortunately with all the comparisons to Slater people have had unrealistic expectations of him and since he hasn't lived up to them they've just decided that he's crap and needs to be dropped. Think about it this way: Moltzen's had several years in FG and Tedesco in his one year has already outshone him so really he can't be that bad (and I'm not one of those people who goes out of their way to pay out Moltzen either). People just tend to focus on the negatives and ignore the positives like his defence (yes, sometimes he stuffs up but it could be a lot worse) and ability under the high ball.

Really hoping that with all the comparisons to Andrew John's etc. the same thing doesn't happen with Brooks and Moses but really, I won't be surprised if it does.

I'm a Tedesco critic but an even bigger critic of Moltzen..

I don't think either of them are our fullback solution.

He blitzed it coming up through the juniors, i don't know how you classify that as ''sweet fa''. By your logic so has Brooks, but you'd never hear that said about Brooks. being the forums golden child and all
 
I have been lucky to have seen all our good fullbacks from about 1959 onwards. ( from every club )

Neither Moltzen or Tedesco are first grade footballers. What you see in him (Tedesco) is beyond me. He offers NOTHING. Cannot stand on his own two feet, out of position on most occasions, runs into defenders instead of going around them and gets injured a lot.

What's to like?
