Players We Should Release Under Contract

This topic is really getting tough to read. We've had difficulty in signing decent NRL standard players for a while now and even with the cap seemingly under control we still are scrounging around with only the dregs available....and we supporters just want to punt most of our our current stocks 🤔
I agree that the majority of our side are not NRL standard but putting the broom through the whole side isn't the answer IMO.
I recently made a joke post stating we should punt the lot, but it was just that, a joke.
We should stick to the rebuild plan of developing our pathways and top up our stocks with at least 3 forwards and a back.
Thats all we need to do atm.
Let's not cut off our nose to spite our face"
The rebuild can't take effect until we sign a coach and because that's dragging on I can't see any improvements till the last few rounds.
I'm hanging my hat on my post from the preseason when I said that this year is going to be a lean one considering our poor roster.
All I wanted to see this year was an improvement in the points differential and a bit of a roll on in the last 4-6 games....this will give us momentum going into 2023.
However this seems to be in the too hard basket unless we jag some quality players and experiment with both KOE players and jostle players like Brooks to hooker and AD partnering JH in the halves.
Whilst that is a pretty slow halves combo the inclusion of JTJ to partner To'a should change up it up a cog..
Naden when he returns from suspension will compete for a spot.
We need to change the way we play.
Work on our kicking game that surely is one of the worst in the NRL.
We have left and right foot kickers and still we kick under too much pressure.
Kick more to the corners and use the sidelines more effectively and change our set plays.
It's going to be tough watching the remaining games but I'm committed in supporting our team.
I'm praying that we'll get someone like Tapine and Crichton. Quality players that can help younger players adjust to the NRL.
Players that are always first picked every week that can change the culture at training and during games. At this stage Api is miles ahead and the gap needs to be closed.

No halves could fire behind our pack. We are decent for 30.mins then we are finished. Why on earth the club would release two forwards and not replace them is beyond given how skinny we are.
We didn't release them mate, we weren't prepared to match their offers.
Kelma isn't that great a loss imo and Lucy was a keeper but $700k+ is too much I feel.
Whilst he has energy and prob one of our best forwards he still was a inconsistent in D.
I agree that we find ourselves short of backrowers and this has to be fixed before next year.

I'm talking about this year- LL Mikaele. We have sacked their coach released two forwards - with no replacements - the club has all but written them off - morale must be at all time low. Absolutely no regard for supporters - terrible leadership.

Yep it's going to be a tough watch especially after tonight.

Yet I was looking at the lineup and, boy it was tough to pick a Tiger who in their position would outplay the bulldog counterpart. Maybe Hastings at 7... Maybe Tamou (Honestly he did not do badly in a bad display tonight).

I don't think our roster was poor at the start of the year. Heck people were saying ours was one of the strongest rosters because we had balance across positions. Ofcourse we turned out to be a paper team. Some narrow losses, Some sad losses.

.. The only light I see is your idea. Move Brooks to Hooker, even for a little bit of the game. Start Liddle or Simpkin (or Rui) but give them a breather. Move brooks in Hooker and move D man to 5/8.

Kimmorley at least seems to get the problem, being "defense". I am lost as to why he was picked as coach, it seemed a strange choice. Yet i see hope in Kimmorley identifying the issue when McGuire sent the same side out with the same program... Again and again and again.

I think kimmorley had a reasonable presser considering his experience level.
I really think he has to make a statement, a "kimmorley fingerprint"
He has limited time one would think to make an impression as head coach so make some changes that will force the team to look and play different.
He's got nothing to lose and all to gain at this point in his career.
We'll soon see if he has Sheen's support.

The more pressing question is who do you retain? Of the current lot Adam D and Hastings from the backs. Possibly Ken. Nofa is capable of brilliance in attack but is chronically overpaid. Forwards? Joffa, Stefano, Twal, one of Simpkin or Liddle to back Api. Blore I dunno a few more young props.

Brooks should never play another game in a tigers jersey. Put him in NSW cup and ship him off to Newcastle asap. We will never play finals and be consistent in wins as long as that imposter is in our team.
The team that bashed the rep pack of Parra last week just came up against our poxy pack - with Seyfarth and twal on the bench with 2 backs…
Dogs bashed Parra with the nsw starting props - papalli and matterson….

They been locking their lips at our team list all week….
If the coach picked the team - he should be shot

Forwards were an abomination today. Ask Tamou about inverted U theory. Give me a break.

He's been playing injured for a month or so. Something with his foot, hence the oft-mentioned moonboot.
There's a reason why he's not kicking goals.
Crook foots aren’t throwing those passes and taking soft options mate…
He’s in slow motion and they’re all up and over him like stink on a monkey…

Yep it was a recipe for disaster from the outset. Exacerbated further by Twal only lasting 40 seconds.
We are desperate for another big body or two to come into the squad, otherwise we're going to get lapped pretty much every week.

kimmorley is nothing but another fall guy - he’s out of his depth and barely experienced.
He said he’s always had an ambition to coach - but he’s been in the wilderness until we give him the girls gig last year…. Surely he’s been around long enough to have a gig somewhere if it’s always been an ambition?
He’s on a hiding to nothing, he probably knows it - maybe it won’t matter or he doesn’t care… I think he’s there because whatever happens won’t be good and it won’t harm any future careers
