Playmaker combinations coming along nicely: Miller

He led his side to u20s grandfinal. Not an easy feat in itself. But not first grade either. 7 is a if not the most important role on the field. The kid cant expect to come into a side with so many play makers and run the show day 1\. There's at least a season in it. Not every rookie 7 can be a Johns, Daly Cherry Evans or Reynolds for that matter (though he's brillaint at what he does, but doesnt do alot) or name another dozen all timers. But he doesnt have to be the best number 7 in the comp either. Be nice if he was, but it probably wont happen. As long as he does his job, puts in 110% and is given a crack at doing that, I as a tigers fan will be happy. I, like a lot you guys just want to see a constant 7\. Actually a constant 1-13 isnt too much to ask either is it. Been a long since those days.

My concern with Miller is he's seemingly lack of speed and if whether or not he will be a threat taking the ball to the line. Prince always had the option of his own running game, splitting defences apart, or to commit defenders before passing. Even Lui had an optional running game.

There seems to a be the general assessment on this forum that we need a genuine halfback to direct the team around. Whilst very true, the 7 imo needs to be a threat in his own right and not just a ballplayer that provides good service to teammates. No good having Miller run to the line when the opposition knows he's going to pass or will simply be an easy one on one tackle.

To be fair, I've seen very little of him, so maybe I just haven't watched the right games. Really happy he will get a good go at 7 though so he can be assessed thoroughly. No doubt he'll take it slow, but I'd really like to see him run the ball a bit himself.

I give it 2 Rounds with Mr. Miller at 1/2, he tries hard, just to slow. Unless Coach Potter has got his wand out and produced something I am yet to see form Mr.Miller. Come Round 3, Brooks will be 1/2 back and SIro 5/8\. Benji will be in Reggies. Coach Sheens is gone and with that my friends so is the reason Benji always got picked in 2012\. PROVE ME WRONG BENJI!!! PLEASE!!!!

Brooks won't be half if Miller fails Moltzen will go to half and Tedesco fullback.
All coaches have their favorites and Miller looks to be Potters.
I can see the potential in Brooks but after watching Miller playing for 2 years in NYC I am yet to be impressed.

Wow Fanta, I'm along the same line of thinking regarding Brooks. I think he has really impressed Potter, but yet to prove himself against the big boys. I still think Sirro is a slight chance of playing 7 if Miller doesn't cut it (but you'd have to give Miller atleast 6 games to prove himself).
But Benji, sorry mate, disagree with you on that one. Benji will never play reggies here or at any other club.

I have seen close to 30 games Miller has played in NYC and his 5 games at NRL and I watch very closely.
His a target for opposition runners and depending what mood his in on the day he will have a go or take the day off….check Very unimpressed. His nothing like Cronk.

If Miller doesnt perform it will be Anasta to 7\. No way Siro will play 7\. There are so many different variables. I could go through all of them but Im not going to bore everyone. It could be moltzen to 7\. as well with Teddy to 1\. It could be Brooks but you wouldnt want to rush him, but if he is killing it in the u20s and Miller is doing an average job then im all for it. Whos knows whats going to happen. Lets just hope the Miller is allowed to play his natural game and not just give it benji all the time. I think the pressure needs to be off Marshall for the last tackle options also and he needs space. Miller deserves a decent crack so lets give him one,,, However im putting a limit of 5 games on him ,,, If nothing is doing then we need to explore other options.

The Tooth, mate, I HOPE I am wrong re Benji. Still have visions of 2012 on the Leichhardt Hill. Had a chat to young Siro last Saturday, mate his is now TALLER then his old man, BIG 1/2 back! ha ha All going to plan he will be right for Round 2\. My only worry about giving Mr.Miller 6 games, what "IF" we are losing?? Season's GONE! Also watch out for young Mr.Moses!! Laurie DALEY picked MOSES, SIRO and BROOKS in a NSW ORIGIN YOUNGSTERS SQUAD. 2 of them are yet to play U/20's,,thats how good they are!! SimontheTiger, mate, seen Mr.Miller in the U/20's, and I agree looks stable, I am prepared to be corrected! Anything for a decent 1/2 back!! We haven't had 1 since Prince left! I also agree with you re him not having a decent go in 1st Grade, so HOPEFULLY Benji "LET'S HIM PLAY HIS GAME"!! And, don't let Aust Junior impress ya,,,9 out of 10 NEVER kick on!! There is more politics involved in those selections then what there is in the Gillard Mob! u20s is not the same… The 5 NRL games I seen he was average at best. Now Im all for Miller getting a decent crack and I hope he kills it. But lets go overboard here and say he is a world beater because he isnt.

I think his kicking game will be the biggest benefit but then again do we know he can reproduce this in 1st grade?? we dont know,, There will be a lot more pressure on him.

Believe me I hope that he is a world beater. Im begging for it. I have workmates that support Storm and Rabbits and they are giving it to me. Im blowing so much smoke up Millers bum its not funny so Im hoping he delivers desperately,,, For me and all of us fans.

Potter will not dump Miller after two rounds, that sort of knee jerk reaction is a thing of the past. As for all the people who are writing him off before he has played a game in 2013 its very unfair. Iam not saying he will make the grade but Iam willing to give him a fair shake now that he has been given the keys to car unlike in years gone by where he was just another player in the defensive line.

keep posting fanta! you crack me up with your inane remarks sometimes. benji marshal had a BAD season and still topped try assists in the nrl last year; with a consistent halves pair he will be a force in 2013\. Maybe not golden boot level but still an integral part of our team. benji in reggies, hahaaha classic.

What half isnt a target for the oppposition…first bloke you target.

I agree that he can be on and off....but Im hoping the lure of first grade will keep him on.

Anyone referring to his past in firsts..get a grip,he got a pathetic go there.

This kid is quality and he is tuff.

ANd my comparison to Cronk was with his kicks.....i reckon he can put a player into a hole better than Cronk.....re his partnership with Koro.
