Alexaki , It's the CEOs responsibility to put the raging fire out immediately. He didn't do that. He was nowhere to be found. Not a pip from him. He's a strange one our Mr. mayer…

So its the fireman's fault and not the pyromaniac's? Maybe we should lock up all the firemen in the world and it would be a safer place.

Or conversely… when a fire starts you want the fireman there to extinguish it before it spreads out of control and destroys everything...

I agree with that Geo. But once the fires out you do something about the arsonist first and foremost. Not give him a cuddle.

How's this for a scenario? Is it just possible that during the massive tanty being had by Captain courageous blaming our illustrious ostrich for his plight, said illustrious ostrich could see the writing on the wall and if it came to axing one or the other it would be he. So like all good ostriches, head in the sand?

Well it was $900k v $250 k … We're broke !

Not saying it's his fault - as CEO it's part of his job to front up and settle things down ASP. No matter who started the c..p. That's what he gets paid to do.

And what about the person who started the crap?

If the CEO knows who is responsible then he needs to get him or them, to tow the line and do it in a way where it doesn't escalate the situation. Mayer didn't do that . He just let the situation get worse and fester. I wouldn't call that great leadership from our CEO. I hope he's learned something from all of this and here's hoping that 2015 is a successful year for the club.

Every little bit of the crap the club copped this year came out the day Robbiegate broke out to the public. Not a day before not a day after. But you seem intent on starting two different threads on exactly the same subject(laying the boot into mayer who isnt to blame its robbie)within about 45 minutes of each other.Hmmm? Please explain Brewster. You sound rather clueless on the inner workings of this club. From a guy who just joined this forum just over a week ago.???

Brewster, Brewster, Brewster…if you are new to the forum , you obviously haven't yet learnt the main rules here. So here are the rules as set down by Lord Jerry( the keeper of all knowledge about W/T ) .Firstly you know nothing about the club , no matter how many years you have been a supporter. Or how many games etc. you attend .
Jerry, by the way has been present at ALL and EVERY conversation
Concerning Mayer , Farah, Potter , The old and new Board as well as the bloke who runs the hot dog stand at L/O. How else do you think he knows so much more than anyone else on here..
Most of us are aware that probably no-one really knows what has been said or done , as I said "most of us "
Rule two : whenever in the presence of our esteemed leader and CEO you must bow down and pay homage to Grant and NEVER allow critism of him to go unpunished , and believe every lie, sorry I meant every word that he says.
Rule 3\. NEVER support The Antichrist( Farah ) who Jerry will tell you , is responsible for every sin that has occurred here since Keith Barnes was in the under 7s
The breaking of this rule really sends Jerry spinning in ever decreasing circles until the inevitable occurs.
So remembers these rules and you will escape the wrath of Lord Jerry.

You keep blaming the fireman and ill keep blaming the arsonist ok.Your do go off on some weird and radical tangents dont you.Pretty sure goldcoast and brewster are the same user account.

When a business is going well, the CEO needs to overtly praise the employees and stay out of the way. When problems arise, the CEO needs to step in immediately and publically assure people the problem is being addressed, while privately he takes the necessary actions to fix the problem.
Unfortunately, Mr. Mayer seemed to disappear when it hit the fan on the St. George Sunday and just let the whole thing blow up in the media. Based on what I read here, it seems to me the problem still exists in one form or another.

I agree with both of these posts. Unfortunately I believe too that the problem still exists at this club :brick: We can only hope that WE are all wrong 😛ray:

Bottom line peeps:

1) We had one of the worst defense and attack in the NRL.
2) We conceded 2nd most points in the NRL.
3) The players clearly didn't want to play for Potter.
4) Our attack had no purpose or structure about it
5) Our defense line speed was comparatively poor…
6) Our discipline(penalties) is very poor and has not improved last 3 years...
7) Players were treated according to reputation rather than equally

All of the above Potter is accountable for...if I were the CEO this is unacceptable.

1\. Wrong. We had the worst defence and the 3rd worst attack.
2\. Wrong. We had the worst defence
3\. You don't know that
4\. Potter had two assistants who are also responsible for that.
5\. Blame the defence coach and the strength and conditioning coach for that
6\. That is an issue with the players and hardly a point. All clubs will give away penalties at particular moments in a game.
7\. I disagree. Potter had to deal with the cattle he was given. He had no say over recruitment or retention. Logic dictates that you will persevere with an experienced player over a rookie more often than not. Potter was at least replacing players with others who specially played the same position as the injured player, unlike Sheens who would shuffle 4 players out of position and weaken the side across the field.

Potter tried to instill structure and it was visible early on. It's impossible to keep it going when your first choice five-eighth, fullback and hooker only play 7 games together all year (In those 7 games, we won 5 and lost 2)

Ah. There are none so blind than those that will not see.

Potter is a very nice bloke, but he can't coach. His win/loss is something like 32% win and you do the math.

I doubt anyone is disputing Mick is a good bloke.
Eventually most people realised what the smart people on this Forum said from day one….He is not a good coach.

Potter is a good coach
Just not in our corporate intellectually
Modern society capable to deliver what's expected
These days

Where are your stats that indicate that Potter is a good coach?

I do not understand the rest of the dribble that you wrote.

No idea huh.You must of been disappointed when potter came out today saying he and mayer had a good working relationship and he wasnt to blame for his sacking.Regarding Robbie farah????No comment.MMMM.Im pro change and you are status quo.Im blame the arsonist and you are blame the fireman.Your childish mentality is the type that has festered in this club for too long and must be eradicated.

I'd like to judge him when everyone in the org is rowing in the same direction. He's never had that luxury.

Hard to judge otherwise
