Yes we shouldn’t get the spoon. Eels are 3 wins behind us and have used a bye already. They are a worse side despite them beating us.Don't know who the biggest losers are, the Wests Tigers or some of their supporter base.
No spoon for us this year.
It does beg the question, but then again we've had a merry-go-round of coaches, all of which have failed to make their mark.Time for Benji to throw it
You are not wrong about the tough run home and more blow outs are not out of the question.Yes we shouldn’t get the spoon. Eels are 3 wins behind us and have used a bye already. They are a worse side despite them beating us.
We have a tough run home though. We have to play a lot of teams who like to flex against us. There are also some good teams behind us currently who will surely click soon?
Having said that, injuries will determine our fate. Lose May, Bula or Luai for a few weeks and we’ll be back in the mix.
I see it pretty much as you do....we used our luck last year re: the draw we had a great final month or so but still blew it.You are not wrong about the tough run home and more blow outs are not out of the question.
We still need to play Cows, Raiders, Penrith and Manly twice.
Penrith appear to be on the up and on current form I see one win against Manly being the best possible outcome from those 8 games and our best chances of a win appear to be the 2 games against the Titans who have speed to burn out the back and will most likely lift against us.
The other remaining games are against the Roosters, Warriors and Dogs.
At the very best I see us finishing on a maximum of 22 competition points which would have us still entrenched in the bottom 4 but hopefully no spoon, still well short of the 10th position I thought we would finish in at the start of the season.
It is getting to the stage where we are praying for the teams below us on the table to keep losing each week.
Once again, as it it turns out to be the case most weeks, this game against Souffs is a huge must win, but on current form I don't see a favourable result. 😡
Was there any positives from the Melbourne game? I don't want to watch it again and in the moment I couldn't see much. I believe we're in desperate need of a bye (and some recruits) and we'll bounce back but hoping someone saw something in that game that suggested it wasn't as bad as it seemed...
We did have a lot more opportunities in the red zone than the Storm by halftime (not sure how it ended at fulltime) just couldn't execute cleanly. Was there any positives from the Melbourne game? It is too simplistic to single out individuals. Was there any positives from the Melbourne game? I don't want to watch it again and in the moment I couldn't see much. Yep nothing more needs to be added to that summation, well saidIt is too simplistic to single out individuals.
They beat them through the middle and through the right edge. It was the defensive systems of those two areas that let them down. The lazy efforts of the inside men were exploited. The refusal of any player bar Bula to attempt a bomb defusal was exploited. The marker defence was disorganised trash. The broken field defence remains cowardly - they all just stand still and hope the runner comes near them.
If Harry Grant played that game he would have likely secured another couple of try assists, through linebreaks from dummy half. The scoreline actually flattered us. We were very very lucky to only lose by 64. They made a lot of mistakes and Bellamy was going apeshit in the box. The definitely left points out on the field.
That was a worse beating than we received from the Cows in 23, the Roosters in 22 or the Storm in 21, even though those teams scored more against us, as we were playing better footy in the lead up, with a better roster.
So no. There was no positives. They werent just taught a lesson, they were bitchslapped. They were embarrassed and shown in no uncertain terms what a fraud of a side they are. They were shown that their "good form" to start this year was actually built on a house of cards...lucky wins included. I dont think they can turn it around as its been there all year and hasnt been improved. Saying that though....the side to play to get back in the right mindset is a South Sydney missing Murray, Walker, Wighton, Johnston and Ravalawa.
They need to win by any means this weekend and then work their arses off over the next fortnight.
No fking family holidays!!!
Oh boy you didn't spare the rod with the bare facts their Tuck, went grim reaper on their arses lol.It is too simplistic to single out individuals.

Instead of becoming bitter, avoid watching the game like I did lolThis is a sh*t team who have had a very favourable draw. Avoiding the spoon will be a huge achievement.
