Gotta laugh at the liberals at the moment. They are jumping up and down saying Rudd wants to increase taxes to pay for his hospital reform. But then the next day Abbott is proposing paid maternity leave, funded by a "levy" on big businesses.

It's not a tax, it's a levy.

Just like the superannuation surcharge tax wasn't a tax, it was a surcharge.

I am a swing voter, I voted for Rudd in the last election but am starting to wish I hadn't, honestly if it wasn't for Howard's stubborn stance on work choices then he would have walked back in, Liberals commited political suicide there…

As we stand at the moment I don't rate either party, I don't like Rudd and I don't like Abbott, we are screwed either way at the moment I reckon :frowning:

When you see the 'Built by Labor' plaques outside our new school halls when we vote, people will start to see what they have been trying to achieve the whole time. Reelection.

The problem with Labor governments is that they eventually run out of other peoples money. At least the libs do what is needed, not popular.

I just hope Abbott doesn't throw too many air swings! Looks like he has with this 'levy'.

IMO all the politicians we have in the country are duds ..

My grandfather always said to me "to have a strong government, you need a strong opposition".

Rudd's a dud. Gillard's no better. But what's worse is that if Labor lose the election, Abbott's running the country! I believe if there is a change in government at the next election it will be because Labor lose it, not because the Libs win it.

Then you get to State government. Kristina Keneally is doing nothing, and Fatty O'Barrell in the opposition is as useless as a parachute in a spelling bee.

I much prefer Gillard, while I have no idea why the Labor party are so stupid as to perform such a stunt! Rudd will get the nod and he's done the right thing in this instance by calling this ballot...

Gillard: Mr. Abbott is out of touch with the electorate... Australians stand to gain nothing from the re-introduction of WorkChoices.

I don't think any woman in this country would vote for Abbott. Sloppy Joe would have been a much more "attractive" option, and I use that term attractive very loosely :laughing:

This will be an interesting lead up to the Election.

Labour won the last election on 2 grounds: 1-We needed a change in Government and the in-fighting between Costello v Howard was distabilising,. And 2-The country Voted for Kevin Rudd, not the Labour Party.

This is gona be an interesting couple of days. Lets hope the ASX doesnt panic…
