not at all. takes a bit more than that but when the keynote speaker for climate change jumps in front of the entire world and calls out about lost dreams and stolen childhood, I think it's a bit of a skewed perspective. Scientists all over the world have science proving one way or another, but when this kid gets up and has her say she becomes time person of the year and we all have to listen to her opinion? I'll take the scientists every day whichever way they lean.

not at all. takes a bit more than that but when the keynote speaker for climate change jumps in front of the entire world and calls out about lost dreams and stolen childhood, I think it's a bit of a skewed perspective. Scientists all over the world have science proving one way or another, but when this kid gets up and has her say she becomes time person of the year and we all have to listen to her opinion? I'll take the scientists every day whichever way they lean.

Thanks for that post, as it shows a couple of key things.

Firstly of course, for mine it confirms my ultimate paragraph thoughts and secondly, shows those brave men that were a cog in the major event that shaped our future in so many ways. With it's breakthroughs and much accelerated industrial progression, WW2 triggered the exponential growth of mankind's damaging emissions that had not seen increases anything near that scale in the 150 odd years since the industrial revolution began.

A good thing about social media posts such as yours is they provide the key points that I find some, excuse the term, "deniers", whom, when along with the human population explosion and resultant extinction numbers during that period are brought to their attention, actually take on board points such as those above and reconsider their position.

There's a lot of information out there about it either side of the debate, but people should get more excited about scientists and their work and research, rather than an inoffensive 16 year old complaining about lost youth.

@colinbh can you explain something mate? I mean this seriously, not as a jab. Why do people get so worked up protecting fossil fuel? I mean, I can understand maybe if your a miner or something. But beyond global warming, fresh air (I live in HK, so I see the effects) and energy independence have to be strong arguements for a shift anyway.
