Also I expect a fairly large investigation into how the security forces let this happen to the extent it happened.
Narcissist in Chief may also be shown the door by tomorrow as well, it appears he's been left out of a lot of decision making with today's events. I wouldn't be surprised if Pence will be tasked with holding the fort until Biden is inaugurated
I think the Republicans have realised Trump, who is a convicted Rapist and Felon has just jumped the shark. Problem is they've let it go on too long now, and he's that far gone it will irreparably damage the Republican voter base.
The Republican party could well have complete split into 2 seperate parties depending on if the majority go with the wannabee dictator or decide to keep to their supposed traditional values
I think you could say that about both sides. Republicans into Republicans & Trumpists. Dems could split into the Biden and AOC parties, even AOC has said the same things.

IMO compulsory voting in the US would tighten the focus of both of these parties. If both the Dems and Reps could abandon their fringes, the US and the world would be in a better place.
I think Australia is helped by having more prominent smaller parties. The Liberal and Labor parties here are moderated by more hardline elements being drawn out (left to the Greens, right to One Nation etc). But the smaller parties also help to 'keep them honest', by giving an extra level of scrutiny.
True, which was the original premise of the Australian democrats with Don Chipp, “keep the bastards honest”.... party was never the same once Don retired/passed.
You are correct,Chipp had a good party which many Labor and Liberal voters agreed with on many issues even against their own political leanings. After Don left the woman who became the leader sold out to John Howard destroying the party and it could not recover.
We as a nation are worse off because of it
