The Poms could be the dark horse at the World Cup

With the Burgess boys ,Gareth Ellis,Crabtree,Hock they will match us and give it to the Kiwis

If the Pommies back can fire they could give us a run for our money

They probably are no chance , but we will probably face them in the WC final , not the Kiwis

And if we get a typical Pommie day the forward battle will be crucial

fitness will be important. ellis still hasnt played a game this season. sammie burgess hardly ever plays these games, he's injured end of season most of the times. graham will probably be looking for slater's other ear though

dont forget widdop, jack reed, heighington, rangi chase and you would imagine some ex pats would have gained citizenship by now so they could be a dangerous side obviously halves would be a key issue still

Heighington will be flat out making the 17 Bazz

13 Sam Burgess
12 Earl Crabtree
11 Gareth Ellis
10 George Burgess
9 Keiron Cunningham
8 James Graham

Thats a monstrous forward pack with a fair bit of skill rolled in

Is Keiron Cunningham still running around? Wow, I would of thought he would be 40 or so now….seems like he has been around forever. Surely they have got someone that is better than him in ESL to choose from?
That is the problem with the Pommie teams of the last 25 years, they have some great world-class players in their team and then mix them in with some real duds. Explains why they are hardly ever competitive at Test level.

Its good to see actually.
I always go for the underdog in international rugby league for the greater good of the game..

I know this is a bit of topic but would you rather see Pacific Islanders (Samoa, Tonga, Fiji, etc) in the four nations rather than PNG?

Actually much prefer to see a combined Islands side including PNG ,Fiji,Samoa and Tonga

If they could find a quality 6 and 7 they would be a dangerous side

James Roby is their best hooker, think he was close to coming to the nrl after the last world cup but decides to stay put at St Helens

You will never get to see a side combining all these islands as quite frankly the Melanesians and the Polynesians absolutely hate each other going back centuries, this is why they are such aggressive people.

I love these broad statements written as though they are facts. Firstly, Polynesians and Melanesians do not absolutley hate each other going back centuries. As with all cultures, going back over time there was times of war and times of peace. There is no broad based hatred between say Fijians and Samoans that i have ever been aware of. There is more of a rivalry between Samoan And Tongans (due to cultural similarities) and Tonga having conquered Samoa at one point.

I hope people do not read these statements and think that Polys and Melansesians are like the arabs and israelis! There is a little thing call Kava - which was shared amongst the chiefs in Polynesia and Melanesia during times of conflict/celebration/ceremony and exchanging of goods. Trying hating someone after dinking copious amounts of Kava!

The aggressive people line…. well thats just racist bullsh*t to which i wont even respond too.

Keiron Cunningham retired last year. James Roby will be the hooker and usually plays 80 minutes. They won't be playing all those big forwards. They'll probably use O'Loghlin at 13, and Lee Mossop at 8 with George Burgess on the bench. Their big problems are the halves and centres. Sinfield will have to play at 6 because they can't leave out their captain. Their best half this year is Brough but he has decided to play for Scotland so they might have to pick Rangi Chase at 7\. Charnley and Hall will be the wingers but there aren't any automatic choices at centre - probably Kallum Watkins and Some Guy.

It tells you how bad their centre stocks are when Joel Moon is one of the best centres in SL.

South Sydney's Burgess brothers: ( L-R) Sam, Luke and twins George and Tom at Coogee Beach

Go Nate! It is these sweeping generalized statements about the characteristics of a particular race (or gender for that matter) that have been the catalyst for rampant worldwide prejudice and the justification of war for many centuries now. It strips people of their uniqueness and individuality as human beings.

As for the Kava - well it got to my lips one day and everything went numb after that

My England forward pack would be
8\. Chris Hill
9\. Michael McIllorum
10\. James Graham
11\. Gareth Ellis
12\. Gareth hock
13\. Sam Burgess

Bench:
14\. James Roby
15\. George Burgess
16\. Eorl Crabtree
17\. Ben Westwood

Pretty strong when forwards Sean O'Loughlin, Lee Mossop & Tom Burgess miss out.

No room for Chris H? He has played OK for the Sharks.
