Koala that got binned

Meanwhile our player will most likely have to miss a week ..
All's fair in the NRL (play on )

If he played for us it was fine, but he does not so hit him with a suspension. Written and spoken by a true Wests Tigers supporter.

I'm just disappointed that Michael Clutch Kam didn't get to score the match winner this time.

Pretty sure thats why ponga took him out.

Credit to kayln though. Don't think I've heard anyone better answer the post match interviews. Seems like a good kid.

Esan has the chance also in that tackle, but dropped it

No charge... Plays next week

How does Kikau get 2 weeks but Ponga nothing? I am ok if Ponga isn't suspended, it was reckless but not intentional, and he got binned at a crucial point in the match.

But if that is the precedent, Kikau gets off also. Crazy inconsistency.

But really why should we hope for consistency? I am still butthurt that Bryce Gibbs got a 3 match penalty for sliding late into Luke Burt whilst in the act of scoring, didn't do him any lasting damage, and I don't recall anyone being done for sliding knees in the years since, despite it being a regular enough occurrence.

Rubbish thread.

Ponga is a great young man on and off the field.

Watch his post match interview when asked about it. Says it all about him.

He's a football grub.

Yeah he's probably a nice bloke off field. Billy Slater is also apparently a nice bloke. But on-field he's a grub. My mate met Mick Ennis and said he's a really quality bloke - but on-field he's a grub. Josh Reynolds is nickname is GRUB but he also seems a really nice fellow off-field.

I don't care about off-field personality one bit.

Grub grub grub. Of course I'd take him at the Tigers in a heartbeat, because grubs can also be winners.

this play was straight out of the billy slater play book. He made a decision to play the man and not the ball. Just unfortunate to have the contact on mck that he did.

If it was in the field of play it would've been penalty sufficient, but since he did it to stop a try attempt then sure it's a sin bin. I don't believe for one minute he should have missed weeks for it.

Just my two bob of course.....

Think that’s the most fair comment in the thread.

cheers I appreciate that

Would i still have him on the team? Yes

Would i take him over burgess? Yes

Do i still hate george for what he did? Yes

@OzLuke agree, however, based on the current policy/rules of the game... and incidents as recent as last week, he cannot be allowed to find himself in a similar situation again and not be rubbed out for at *least* a week

Accidental or not?

Also didn’t agree with the sin Bin necessarily as it wasn’t intentional, very dangerous though
I’m a rusted on tigers fan but I’d like all players not to have to end up stiff and lifeless for their last-minute efforts when game is on the line... Thompson would have played the ball

Thought it was a penalty, but he did say post match that he wasn't concerned about his judiciary appearance and that he hoped Cheeks was OK.

He didn't chuck a Cam Smith and argue it. And he showed concern about Cheeks when he was out on the deck

He were never guna be suspended but oh boy was I feeling for MCK at the actual ground , he looked in terrible condition . Been there a few times myself sadly... but onto Mince meat next week no matter who is in our side or whatever their FB tries to do

   Don't worry mate , i'm still butt hurt Hollywood Harrigan penalised Bruce McGuire in 89 GF with ball in hand. Reason for penalty just .......well just because.
