Positives - Blair

I think everyone calling for Blair to play prop for us need their heads read. He gets crunched when he carts it up the middle. His best spot is playing wide in the second row as a forward standing in the backline. The problem is we haven't been getting a roll on at all because our front row are getting nowhere so when Marshall decides to spin it wide the opponents line is set and Blair's strengths are being nullified because he needs to be able to isolate defenders to get offloads away or use his fend. Opponents are easily getting multiple men into tackles on him AND Lawrence and that is why neither are looking effective. The reason he "improved" yesterday was because he realised he had to take some up the guts so it made him more involved but his impact was very lacking because he isn't a prop.

Doubt anyone could have said this better.
Very true

MacDougall, Blair's best performances for NZ were when he played prop.

I prefer him in the second row but he can play prop and play it well if needed.

If you noticed yesterday he moved to a more central role instead of being parked out wide on the left like the previous few games.

Thought he played a lot better yesterday & agree with what Gould had to say as it wouldnt be easy coming from Melbourne to the Tigers.
