Possible 2014 Signings

With the release of Marshall at season's end plus others which have already signed for other clubs or will surely not be resigned (Tuqiri, Utai, Reddy etc) we are going to have a lot of money available for spending next season and imo besides the resigning of our talented youngsters which needs to be attended to (Brooks, Moses, Santi, Naiyaravaro etc) we have to hit in hard next year.

Hopefully by blooding some youngsters next year like Brooks and Lovett with out current young crop developing their games i think if we go on a massive double signing next year we could shape for extremely fruitful 2015 and onwards seasons. I'm suggesting we buy Shaun Johnson (who'se contract expires after the 2014 season) and George Burgess who is also off contract at the end of 2014 (if not George, then Tom).

I really think with Potter, he can develop Johnson (as a 5/8) into one of the best in the game and we won't be seeing the current inconsistency of Marshall in Johnson (which is partially due to Sheen's influence on Marshall's game over the years). Johnson would be a risk but someone who could really pay dividends later on.

As for George Burgess (although he has been somewhat an idiot this year lol) we have all seen what he is capable of, he could add that decimating scare factor that our pack doesn't currently contain.

Mayer said we won't be hitting the market much at all this year but for next year, if we could sign up these 2 it would be huge for our club and with a fully fit squad of experience and growing youngsters, i can really see 2015/16 being very rewarding for us.

That's my opinion on what we should do with our money atm, what do you guys think? who else would you like to sign?

I can see Johnson in a Tigers jersey, could be a great buy.. Guess it depends on a few other things though (Moses' development, what they do with Anasta maybe?)

Couple good games this year, if we want a rocks and diamonds player we would've kept benji.

With siro and brooks going to play next year I'd play them until we can place Moses on the bench..

We don't need any halves we have brooks, Moses, and mulcahy coming up and braith for 2014 and also in a pinch sirro, we will have to see where we are lacking in the side at the end of 2014

We don't need to sign anyone for next year. I'd have Brooks and Anasta in the halves, and for the forwards we've got guys like Sue, Buchanan and Ava who all will have 20 or so games under their belt, something we didn't have going in to this season.

As Mayer has mentioned, I don't think we will be buying in 2014\. But come 2015, I would love to see if we can bring back fafita.

And when Anasta gets injured for half the season like this one? Moses isn't ready, and sirro isn't a half. He's a second rower and I don't want him filling in like he is this season. Two rookies in the halves wouldn't be optimal. Combined age of less than 40….

Johnson has some decent experience, would not be upset if we bought him.

Exactly my thoughts, and for these reasons would definitely be a viable option.

I'm not too sure about Buchanan. At first I thought this young bloke has got a big heart after being thrown into the deep end because of injuries.

However, after watching him for a bit now he just seems too pedestrian. Really doesn't bend the line at all. Still got a big heart though.

Let Fifita write his own check for 2015

x1000% agree and while were at it lets sign his twin 2… and if we need to sign any other of his family to get him back lets do it.

But unfortunately i doubt very much he will come back.

Kevin Locke would be superb. Not sure where that would leave Tedesco though.

I really like Kevin Locke. He's fast, good cover defense & can chime in well in attack when needed. I'd grab him tbh.

Hmmmm Kevin Locke will do me if we can get him .Tomkins will be the Warriors fullback so he will struggle to find a spot.

Has Tomkins signed for the Warriors next season? I didn't know that, I reckon he will struggle in the NRL. Locke is a much better player than Tomkins IMO. Would love to get him on our books.

It's not official yet I don't think but like heavily heavily rumored. It's not been made a secret that they're going after him

Okay. Going after him and having him signed is a totally different thing though as we have witnessed before.

It's been widely reported he has agreed to terms, just working out the transfer fee.

Okay mate, thanks. Will be interesting to see how he goes. I MO he will be a flop in a much tougher competition, he seems to be pretty much rocks and diamonds.
