I hope he comes back at some stage for one more game - I think he's played 249 NRL games. One more would be
a nice 250 total!

No….not for one game, not for a charity milestone total.
These guys and the club is professional and if he's doing anything it should be for the season.
This tangent the topics taken reminds me of Rangi Chases first try in 1st grade....for a moment he should remember fondly its really a nothing instant where he recorded 4 points....no room for charity in pro sport

Yeah Canberra could be smokies in my book.

I agree here, Raiders could be the 2005 Tigers…

Then again The 2 teams to beat are the boring Dragons whose squad has moved backwards (Though the hev the Bennett factor) and The Sheens led Tigers.

The most settled teams take out the GF. I cant recall a team that had mass recruitment drives following up with ultimate success.

I can see Canberra struggling. With Campese out for a bare minimum 8 weeks at the start of the season.
I think Orford was a good signing, he's the steady head they've needed and someone to support Campese.
I just think it might be left to late into the season for a combination to form and its not easy coming back from a knee injury either….
I hope they do perform well though, they're a young exciting team and i enjoy watching them play.

Post 300 :sign:

I don't think so Fraze. Campese strangles the flow of play and we witnessed this in the final against the Tigers last year, we had the game in the bag until Campese went off and the Raiders found another gear and threw the ball around a bit more. I think between Campo going missing for about half the season and Orford coming on board I think they'll improve on last year. They will be an exciting team to watch.

Being a very well credentialled expert in Rugby League honed by over 40 years being a player & fan I really believe the Tigers are going to blitz the comp in 2011.
When u look at all the teams logically & clearly it is as obvious as the nose on ur face that "weststigers" have far & away the strongest talent pool of any of the teams in this years comp.
Anyone who thinks that any other team other than Weststigers has a "bullsroar" of a chance to win it had better be prepared to eat humble pie at seasons end when the Weststigers are Premiers.
The Faders, the "aints", the rooters, the pansie panthers, the cretens, the horses doovers, souffs, etc etc etc are no chance in 2011!!!!

hey sheens normally has a back on the bench that only gets a few mins. might as well be the mayor of mino instead

It will be very interesting to see.

He played one State Cup game and was leagues out of his depth. Maybe his time in Bundy Red Cup has improved him

Saw ben jefferies pounding the streets the other day &must admit he looks super fit, i hear he is playing fullback in state cup for wests & said he is as keen as mustard.

He scored a million tries for The Entrance. So he must be able to match it with the big guys now?

I can never remember seeing his name too often in the sports section up here (on the Central Coast) so I'm not sure he was tearing them apart. This is his second chance so he's got to make it happen.

He did make the Bundy Cup team of the year - but he is still a whippet in the Brett Howland mould and I cannot see his frame holding up in NSW Cup let alone NRL!

Rumours around that Sutton is off to ESL and Souths will pickup Anasta.

Apparently being finalised and will be official by the end of the week.

So souths drop their starting centres and 5/8th (who are all quality players) and replace them with a centre and a lock…

Sounds about par for Souths. If thery were going to shaft one of their halves, it should be the Cherbourg brawler. He lacks organisational skills and is a speed bump in defence.

must admit a bit suprised by this, if it does happen, thought rabbitohs were out of money :exclamation:
is there any indication of which team John Sutton will be joining in ESL.
wonder if Anasta being related to George Piggins has contributed to him going there.

Sutton for Anasta? That is interesting, considering I thought Anasta played his best footy last year when he was moved into the forwards.

Do the Rabbits have any other quality 5/8's that they could use, so Anasta could slot into lock?

It's funny you know, cause it doesn't seem to matter who comes onto the market, Souths always seem to be in the running for them.
