Potter can't coach

I'm starting to think players are right… Would payten make same mistakes as potter on team selections?
Potter done great job on player retention. But his small mistakes on team selection on origin time and since injuries have costs us which is proven by our losses. Its my only question make on potter is his team selections

a lot of people on this forum want to say that its not potters fault, we have injuries and this and that.
well let look at it from this angle, PENRITH have nearly the same toll yet they still play football and have a structure, we have no structure, what happen to the game plan we used against the dogs, a one week wonder the last two games we have gone back to one out football. potter would take all the glory if we were top of the tree so he has to take the shit for the way they are playing now. his selections are a disgrace and it would appear he has little or no game plan. SORRY FLOKES ITS TIME TO GO MR POTTER.

5 injuries 1 who is a walk up start and one bench your argument is invalid.

He certainly didn't do himself any favors Potter by playing a young back rower with a handful of NRL games and has been playing off the bench in NSW Cup on the wing last night against 3 of the best players the game will ever see. Shifting Lulia, Thompson to wing/centre and playing Akuola in the back row would have made it easier for the kid in a more familiar position.

Injuries haven't helped Potter's cause, if the club were looking to keep him he would have been resigned by now and had the players supported him like parker and Co did with Griffin at the Broncos then that says enough for me that we'll have a new coach in 2015.

Apart from tedesco nofo and brooks you wouldn't feed the rest agree time for potter to go as the team is going backwards.

Im sorry but i really cant blame a coach, any coach, for recent results. The cruel, realistic fact is that injuries have ruined our season hopes again. This is not a cop out.

Tedesco
Nofo
Lawrence
Patterson
1/2 richards
Anasta
Moltzen
Brooks - last night
Fulton

This is not a FEW injuries. This is near our entire first choice backline out! The result is players out of position and much more responsibility on our young talent. Im sure the coach always intended to blood the likes of Moses this year but not in the current scenario. Add all this to cap restrictions and the team pretty much selects itself.

Potter is doing his beat to get reserve team to perform. The fact is we are well outclassed without the majority of our first 17 available. This would be the case with ANY team. Last night we were simply outclassed, they had way too much pace for our patchwork backline and a far, far superior kicking game.

With out fu squad available, we are a force. With 7 first choice players out at one time, we are not. Simple as that. Our form is not a coaching issue.

how come PENRITH are able to still play good football with a good structure and they have heaps of injuries. Oh that's right they have a coach who can coach.

just watched the press conference after the match, gee Potter got it right told every one what storm done right and he had plenty of excuses, but as a coach he should be having answers for stopping there plays not sitting back at the end of the game giving them heaps of credit, for towelling us up. I want a coach who looks hurt and broken when he loses not sitting there with a smile and saying how well they done.

People are saying, "look at Penrith" they also have a heavy injury toll, yes they do, but our problem is our injuries have been mainly all in our backline and not spread across the team. In a nutshell we have ran out of troops who can compete at the required level and especially outside backs. You can throw one second rower into the outside backs and maybe get away with it, but not half your backline.

By replacing Potter, we just go back to square one again. Its not all bad,if we played the storm under similar circumstances as last night two years ago they would have put well over fifty on us.

Once again who ever they pick as coach I really dont care, but they have to support the poor bugger a lot better than they have with Mick

I din't understand the problem. Sack Potter and gather together all the armchair experts from this forum and coach by committee. Can't lose.

Resign Potter.

There are good reasons why there is pressure on Potter. The team has not improved.

I agree. I'm starting to think Potter should go. He has had 2 seasons and hasn't made the right calls too many times this season.

Well this is the reason Steve …

As I said you didn't want Potter and you don't want Taylor

So my question still stands , realistically (what we can afford ) who do you want ??

Nice Bump Happy…

**Taylor** has to go, he can't coach!!
R u guys serious, this guy is pathetic!
Getting rid of **Addo-Carr**, playing **Milone**, bringing **Felise** on after 60minutes. All reasons why he can't coach not considering injuries!!
Please if he was sacked we would be going much better!
Get ready for the slaughters to come, u asked for it..
If **Robbie** said or he didn't, I will **Taylor** can't coach..
All the injuries we have had this year and he lets our best two reserve **backrowers** go!! Great move **Taylor**!!

OP needed to be Edited for relevance 2 years on... 😱pen_mouth:

Things got far worse Geo

3 days after this thread the Cowboys game happened 😱pen_mouth: :bawling

If Elijiah Taylor had come to our club in mid 2014, he would have been forced to defend in the centres with Kieth Lulia on his outside. The forum would have hated him.

History repeating. I guess for a few people in this thread the message is pretty clear. Be careful what you wish for.

It is possible that both Potter and Taylor are hopeless, you know.

A couple of key differences for mine.

Potter had no support, Taylor was given much more power including full support of the board and ability to recruit his own staff.

Potter teams were also ravaged by injuries.

In short, Potter was harshly treated. Taylor for mine I could make a more conclusive judgement at the end of this season. We need to be pushing in and around the Top 8.

Fans just want to see things are improving. Some weeks this season I think they are, and others weeks i think we are wasting our time.

Some good points here. Taylor has had it easy. He has done some good things but he has also done a lot of poor things. The poor at this stage in my opinion outweigh the good. Let's see how we close this season out. The top 8 in my opinion is a pretty clear benchmark that Taylor should be getting us too.

He hasn't even been able to go into the market thanks to so many backloaded contracts, not to mention the same poor facilities Potter had. I won't argue he's had it easier than Potter, but to say he's had it easy is a fallacy.
