Potter did himself no favours tonight

Well, there were encouraging signs in the first 20 minutes.

It was Tedesco's best offensive game all year. Passes stuck and were made to the end of a reasonably deep backline. BMM made a number of strong runs. Sue ran a couple of excellent lines from which he made some decent metres. With a bit more conditioning Ava could be a beast. Nofo proved he is class, not only in attack but in defense. Siro showed his versatility once more.

Tedesco's improvement tonight will probably be a flash in the pan as it so often is with such young kids, but for a team with so little ball, he was dynamite.

I think the improvement in Tedesco's attacking game and the good performances of BMM over the last two weeks shows that Potter's coaching can get through to players who are willing to listen and have a go.

Still think it is impossible to judge Potter this year given the circumstances but get the knives out people…

Mick is prob 25% to blame. But he had no choice but to take on the staff, players and legacy from sheens era..

Injuries and poor form is not always coaches fault… We have gone through 30 plus FG players this year...

He picks Anasta at half, benches Sironen, makes Marshall the captain and drops Buchanan for Iosefa. It really starts to make you wonder…

No one else except anasta.
Siro is injured, cant play 80min.
Marshall being captain, that was probably the tipping point of the game. If fulton had the © next to his name we probably woulda beaten em on golden point.
Luani can't play 80min against the chooks, good move. With hindsight, you can critique everything.

I was watching Siro on the sideline last night. He was steaming. He wanted to be on the field much earlier. Not sure he is carrying an injury. I don't understand bringing him on with 6 mins to go in the first half.

He didn't take on the staff, they left.

It was part of a review into coaching, leaked by the board (again). The review was happening in the public eye because the board thought It would be a good idea to get the press involved, that always as helps…

The players attitude stinks. What will change it next year. Anyone disliked a boss before enough to not perform? Anyone remember liking them again... It happens, but very rarely. This is the risk for Potter (who I completely respect for how he has handled himself).

No doubt Snake, these fakes as you put it, are not his, so why has he continued selecting them and in doing so, empowering them? It's resulted in the stuff we see tonight. Again, we can mention that he has no one to choose from due to injury but who is really missing tonight aside from Woods, Reddy and Koro? He has a squad of players and even if it means bringing in one of them from NSW Cup to just juggle the side around, wouldn't that send more of a message?

How about the biggest of all robbie farah? Also moltzen, Lawrence, bodene Thompson

I think the opposite. This game has given Mick Potter the indisputable right to drop him next week. It won't be his fault it won't be the clubs.Potter knew Benji wasn't up to it. This game gives Potter the right to drop who he needs to.

Exactly. Just giving all these over rated players enough rope.

It was these experienced players who got the team into this mess, they can take responsibility.

Part of me wants to see Benji out there against Souths. He can cop what Ayshford did last night. Footy karma

Well said Mccarry. I was happy with Potter as head coach when he was signed. That joy is now starting to dissolve. I understand that is has not been an easy year but a good coach should be able to get the best out of a team attitude is a massive problem at the moment. I think the dragons game will decide if he is coaching at the tigers next year.P.s ghopefully the tigers will let Anasta go asap.

Can't believe the utter morons blaming Potter for Benji playing like rubbish.

You people and your crazy agendas make me laugh

I'm with you mate. The real truth is he's been crap way before Potter arrived, but these people seem to only remember the flick pass of 05\. I've said it a million times, Benji needs a dominant halfback, without one he's nothing.

I don't understand the Potter hate

He inherited a circus.

At the end of the day I think recruitment for next year has been fine.
re-signed the best of our talent
flicked off overpriced deadwood
signed depth in most positions without breaking the bank on short term deals
showed balls and dropped benji for souths then got crucified

If he flick anasta, tuqiri and moltzen then we are in the box seat for rebuilding

We need to get Folkes back, under his mentoring in 2010 and 2011 our defence was sensational

Couldn't have siad it better myself.

he hasn't done himself any favors since round 1 with a pathetic team performance against newcastle.

week 4 against manly spells farah for masada.

week 5 selects thompson to start after 10 months out of football gets a suspension in week 1 reggies and comes straight in to start.
who the hell gives a reggies player a walk up start like that.

week 6 lawrence and ayshford are still in the starting team that was not crippled by injury.

utai still starting until injured.

blair selected to start every game.

goes on and on.

and let's look at the development in the halves this year.
miller gone from the club in 2 months and the benji saga since potters half arsed benching.

yes,he came into a bad club, but his hands are not clean.
he has had plenty of choices throughout the year and made his bed.

funny how many have zero faith in the board and their decisions, yet have faith in this hire that also involved humpty.

potter set the tone of accepting sub par performance from round 1.
it hasn't changed since then.

Yep, I agree with everything you've said here. I'm really confused with all the love for Potter on this forum.

I said all along he won't last …. He still has to survive the boards infamous review then after that its only a matter of time.

You make it sound as though he had world class replacements for all of these players.

On the contrary bonstonker, Potter set the standard and discipline which got up the noes of some established players. Add this to the fact that players were dropping like flies and the roster was already on the skids and he was on a hiding to nowhere.

Don't forget he would be the cheapest paid coach in the game, and I wouldn't be surprised if some lower grade coaches are on more than he is.

Fact is that you cannot run an attack without a halfback and with a 5/8 that doesn't want to play.
