week 4 against manly spells farah for masada.
week 5 selects thompson to start after 10 months out of football gets a suspension in week 1 reggies and comes straight in to start.
who the hell gives a reggies player a walk up start like that.
week 6 lawrence and ayshford are still in the starting team that was not crippled by injury.
utai still starting until injured.
blair selected to start every game.
goes on and on.
and let's look at the development in the halves this year.
miller gone from the club in 2 months and the benji saga since potters half arsed benching.

yes,he came into a bad club, but his hands are not clean.
he has had plenty of choices throughout the year and made his bed.
funny how many have zero faith in the board and their decisions, yet have faith in this hire that also involved humpty.
potter set the tone of accepting sub par performance from round 1.
it hasn't changed since then.
Yep, I agree with everything you've said here. I'm really confused with all the love for Potter on this forum.

Ok so he gave Robbie a 10 minute rest, that is the crux of the issue? He hasn't done it again; I don't mind trying things out so long as mistakes aren't repeated.
But the rest of the stuff?
re starting Blair - it looks like moving him to starting prop is actually getting the best out of him. It was forced with the injury to Galloway and gradual wearing down of Buchanan.
re starting Thompson - did Tim Sheens not bring players straight back into firsts with no or minimal proving in reggies?
re playing Lawrence and Ayshford every week - sure they aren't in good form but who are you gonna replace them with? I didn't see the replacements during their injuries (Simona, Reddy) doing anything to stop this year's rut. We are short on quality performing centres, what is the coach supposed to do first year in?
re playing Utai - it's easily arguable that you don't start a season with your least experienced wingers. Tuqiri only just back so that option was gone; ended up going to Simona and Nofo and that has turned out very well.
re Miller - yes he is gone and who is complaining? Potter tried him out, Miller produced nothing and he got cut. Much better than dragging the kid along as Sheens did.
re Benji benching, you think Potter was wrong to do that? Is it Potter's fault that Benji responded to his benching by packing up his toys and delivering crap for the rest of the season? Isn't the entire footballing fraternity calling for Benji's benching right now?? And anyway there is the side story that Benji was perhaps benched because of transgression of team rules, not strictly performance.
Fair enough if Potter was holding back real talent in reserves, then he'd be up for blame. But he has inherited a crap roster, let's be honest. Sure we can cut Blair and Anasta and Ayshford and Benji and Lawrence and Utai co, and then try to field a team with whatever is left of our Top 25.
All the negatives this year stem from inherited issues - roster, coaching staff, structure, facilities, political in-fighting. I don't understand how the head coach is supposed to undo all of this in one season. Even the "mighty" Wayne Bennett hasn't turned miracles at Newcastle who themselves had bigger issues than just coaching.
Potter of course needs to produce results. But you can't give a guy two years and then sack him half-way. This forum wanted Sheens out, and he's gone. We wanted dead wood set adrift and that has also happened. Now that we are half-way through the painful restructure, let's actually spend a year trying it out before bringing in another guy with another new structure.
