Potter on the Game Plan tonight

Thought he spoke really well. He needs to be given a chance with his own roster and his own coaching staff. He needs to surround himself with a smart and experienced coaching team. Can't disagree with anything that he said.

The more I see of Potter, the more I like him. No one, except certain 'unknowns' within the club, wants him sacked. The fans, the media and everyone else seem to be on his side and thankfully this will save him.

Come on mate you don't expect the DT 'journos' to actually do some research on their stories do you? Much easier to just make it up as they go along.

Why doesn't anyone ask him about our terrible recruitment for next year??? Worst buys in the league. This is the same coach who said in May that he was happy with how Blair was playing. I believe he deserves a second year but he has a massive job to survive

Turns out Blair was on the improve and has been one of the more better consistent players. So I think Potter knows what he's doing. Give him another year before u hype up and judge from the back seat of your coaches box.

Tapau
Richards
Leilua
Patterson
Austin

They seem like reasonable signings to me considering we have little money and are coming second last. We have the juniors, hopefully these guys are the glue.

Its stupid to judge recruitment by itself. You have to take into account current players, development and juniors. On the whole we have bought some good players.

You have to recruit for the whole squad, sometimes that means picking up a few solid but not great players to ensure a well rounded team.

Farah just confirmed he has signed.

Phew

Deal a bit smaller than original speculation. 750k per year.

Mayer delivers to his word again. Safe hands.

Didnt see the interviews (Parent Teacher night)

But it is very good for Potter to have the PR machine in full swing

He seems to be everywhere this last week.

Where'd you hear 750k?

I'll start by saying that I'm glad it seems Potter will be HC next season.

With that said, I want him to stop bringing up how he's been forced to play all the youngsters this season, or how injuries have effected the club, when people start asking about the results on the field.

It's not that I don't think they are factors- they are, and to a degree, perhaps the biggest factors- but I want the coach to own the failings, not find excuses.

I'd rather hear Potter say he hasn't done a good enough job this year, and have commentators, board members, the CEO or fans make the excuses for him, rather than hear him explain away why the Tigers have failed this season.

Maybe I'm being picky, but I don't like hearing any coach, of any sport, try & justify why things haven't gone right. I want to hear the coach tell me he understands he's 'failed', so that I know that the coach understands where he needs to be at next time around.

I heard Potter interviewed on the BSB last Monday, when questioned about our form and results this year Potter said the HC is responsible for the results and he even took some of the blame for Benji's poor form this year…Potter is a non frills type of coach one the Tigers desperately needed after Sheens.

I agree totally.

I think he only played that card once, a week ago saying how he had to blood in so many youngsters. Otherwise, as the above post said- he has taken blame most of the times
