Potter to take reins from Sheens

im willing to back dan ginnane on this, he isnt the type of guy to make a headline just for attention aka a DT writer

very happy if true

My point is the assistants cannot think of and brainstorm ideas, theories, plans **for** the head coach….nor can they do it **without** him.
In a game of centimetres, Im worried giving others weeks start could be a major concern.

I see your point of view.
do not want any other teams to have an advantage.
want the team to be prepared in best possible way for start of the season.

Well we already know you're not happy Ink - personally I'd rather they take the time to get things right rather than rush something to please people on a forum…

Its been over a month, how long do they need? its not like they only sacked him 2 days ago and we're demanding an announcement ASAP. We're only 2 or so weeks from the pre-season. I hardly think supporters wanting an announcement is unreasonable

If it goes on much longer, don't be surprised to be reading stories that we're considering re-appointing Sheens. Wouldn't that just put a smile on everyones dial :stuck_out_tongue:

Ken Sutcliffe on Ch 9 just said Wests Tiger are expected to announce Mick Potter as coach in the next 48 hrs
Yes, believe it 48 hrs !!!!

Ken is normally on the money.

@DanGinnane: Not sure what the delay is with the Tigers. My info is its a done deal, and the terms are astonishing. 6pm @RushHourSydney #nrl

@NothingButWT: Mick Potter will be on less than 100k. Other money will be incentive based.

Wow Potter really must want an opportunity.

Mick Potter has just agreed to terms. Signed a contract that is incentive based.

Good news for the Tigers I think.

All the talk is about money with Mick Potter or lack of ,seems to me this guy has something to prove and will wait for the larger slice down the track so as to get a start. Motivated rings in my ears and this sounds very good to me . I am not worried at all about being a bit behind the field at this stage as the broader team base will be motivated to impress the new coach, just waiting to see if any trainers etc have been moved on as I think some should of been.

X2 Snake! I remember seeing a small article on Yahoo Sport about Potter returning to Australia to try and get a gig somewhere in the NRL the same day Sheens was publicly sacked and wondered if he would be interested in the job. It's almost like it was destined!

I never said it was unreasonable. But it takes a while to interview people and the departure of Sheens has hardly been cleancut plus there's the uncertainty over how much money we have.

Youre happy to wait
The mocking was deserved imo…..surely you dont honestly feel theyre "taking time to get it right"?
That was just a dig at ''my impatience''...wasnt it?
It takes two to tango Yoss.

Im concerned the delay the club is taking is giving other teams 6,7 or 8 weeks head start over us, Im sure those coaches of clubs whose teams missed the finals were busy working on season '13 the week following them being knocked out/completing their season.

No it wasn't a dig at all and I think you know that - it is my opinion. Yes I do think they're taking the time to get everything right and that includes the financials and Tim Sheens role.

I accept your concerns which are reasonable ones. All I ask is you stick to discussing it at the level of your last paragraph rather than calling anyone with a dissenting viewpoint naive.

What will happen to Georgallis, Royce and Skando?

Pretty sure they're staying, we can't afford to pay them out… I'm not sure what's happening with Royce though. Guess the witches hats don't put themselves out though.

The club wouldn't be able to afford to pay them out. If they were to decide to leave on their own that would be a different story. Who knows if potter even wants them gone or not.

omg someone at the Tigers who will get rewarded based on their performance and results.

Lets hope Mick brings in the same attitude with the players!!

Exciting times ahead I think
