Potters ultimate integrity..

Although I have been a strong backer of Micks, given what has happened over the last 3-4 months I believe that there is no way he can be retained as head coach. The reason for this is that the mud will always stick if he stays.

As soon as we loose two or three games in a row next year the press will be into us. Robbie and Mick don't get on, factions in the club want him gone, assistants are gunning for his job. None of this will ever go away whilst he is there.

So, in my view even though it is unjust and not fair, he cannot be retained if we are to start fresh next year and put all the crap from this year behind us.

Exactly!!!!!
Potter , the team, and the club will be in an impossible position for the reasons you have pointed out . Not only will the press pounce on every word or sideways look from anyone involved , but you only have to see our own supporters and the way they tear into the players as if they know all the details of every conversation between Mick and the players or the board.
There was another interview with Mick on the weekend where he AGAIN stated clearly that there was NO problems with either Robbie or any of the players and had'nt been.
So either Mick is a liar ,( which does'nt fit with anything I've seen or heard about him) or , much as some of our supporters don't want to face the fact , that some of the stuff they're peddling about players is just so much cr#p. Pathetic!
But this is the same rubbish that will surface again next season.
There has to be a new coach come in and along with the new board hopefully we will get that new start.

He had the support of the team when they were going well .

During our run of 6 losses half his team couldn't support him because they were out injured.

Look at Manly a couple out and out come the excuses.

I agree as long as we can find a much better option to replace Potter If not , I can't see the use

Who cares what the press write ??

Simple solution is to shut their traps up with good performances Round 1-7 proved we can do it , we just need to find a way to sustain the performances and keep the majority of our Top 17 on the field

Not easy I know , but we need to start setting goals NOW

We need to have a coach who is not afraid to stand up and run things his way irrespective of what the players think. He must not be not afraid to drop players if their form or attitude warrant it. Even if the player is a Sate of Origin Rep. That is the only way he can earn the respect of the players, management and fans.

Have to agree with most- Mick Potter has handled himself extremely well under the circumstances and certainly far better than any of the other parties in this whole tragic disaster at the Tigers. He has shown amazing restraint and class and is obviously a very decent bloke. He deserved far better treatment and I hope he gets that wherever he goes in the future.
Unfortunately, for reasons we the faithful are unlikely to ever really know, he has not been able to rally the players, his own staff, or it seems many in management. He certainly could not stay on with his current coaching staff even if he was to be the one salvaged from this debacle.
I believe the only way forward for the new board is to start fresh - from the top down we need a shake up! CEO and Management team, Coaches and trainers, Medical staff and players - the whole lot need to be subject to examination. If this new Board are going to show any real substance at all they need to have the attitude that if you are not 100% for "Team Tiger 2015" then on your bike and thanks for coming!!
We will never get past this until everyone has the same agenda (and that includes the fans) - all our great young kids will be scarred and their potential ruined, we will never attract any decent players, and we will never win a comp.

Talks well to the press and media, however. in Smith's report he stated that Potter's attitude towards the players ( the ones who count the most ) left a lot to be desired and needed changing.

Potter said that he would do this but maybe the horse had already bolted by that time.

He needs to go, not just because of some of the previous reasons stated in this forum, but, I don't think that he can coach.
