Power play...the 5/8s

How have solid experienced NRL players helped us out at all. I think that players like Anasta have made it a lot harder for Brooks for instance. We need good players out there that make the right decisions.

I also think we have a decent forward pack. We got over the top of Souths and the dogs last year. There is no reason our pack can't perform.

I think Brooks and Moses performing will come down to their ability. If they were named Foran and DCE I reckon our team would be looking pretty good. Let see how Brooks and Moses go. We need them to perform.

look at the Penrith set up, where players like Moylan, Cartwright, Yeo and the kid with a name a mile long have been able to come into the side and look good from day one. They are not surrounded by super stars, but they are surrounded by harden pros. Its a formula that works and makes it so much easier for these kids to slot in and they are also being protected in defense. Granted we are in a slightly different situation where we are running two rookies in the spine who also play in the major traffic area of the game.

We do not need much, but a player like Fenson or Jackson from the dogs would make a massive difference. Maybe Sue might fill that role

The most intriguing thing is what we are going to end up doing with Martin who arguably could be better than Moses. I will be pretty cut if we loose Martin to the bulldogs or somewhere.

I wouldn't stress too much if I were you "littletiger" - Martin is a good back up to have but he is never going to be another Moses. Players like Moses come along once in a life time. This kid is going to be a champion, it is almost like he has it tattooed on his forehead. He has it all, great at reading the game, great passing game and I disagree with a lot of people on this forum - he is a really good defender that will only get better.

"cktiger" I agree - he is going to kill it this year. Will be good to sit back and watch.
Praise be to God that the ball will get out past the 5/8 (Oh! and he is not a hog like Austin).

Where that leaves Martin I don't know. If he wants to hang around that would be good but if he goes??? If you have a Ferrari you don't need a Mini Minor.

I don't know mate. Martin could be same category as Moses in my opinion. The bad thing is Moses sucked at fullback. Anyway I hope we find room and Keep Martin.

We need our engine room to stay healthy. As long as the forwards can make headway into the opposition, Brooks and Moses will go ok, like any halves pairing that plays behind a dominant pack. You lose the middle and your halves will always struggle to make an impact when playing off the backfoot.

THIS….doesn't matter if you had Thurston and Johns as your halves if your forward aren't at least matching the opposition you go nowhere...Early in 2014 we were dominating and won games with Anasta @ 6 for crying out loud...

The more Moses and Brooks play off the back of a rolling forward pack the better they will be...

I just don't think that Brooks and Moses are dominant enough halves , even behind a dominant pack

They don't have any outside backs of note that can create anything and no back rowers who will scare opposition sides

Our spine will have to create everything in 2015 and 2016

I reckon 2015 could be our worse season in attack in the club's history , we are going to need to find something huge defensively to help

Happy a lot will depend on Teddy staying healthy. Our attack could be lethal if Teddy stays fit and strikes up a combo with the 6 and 7\. On the other hand unless Siro really steps up to the mark, we are very short of a damaging running backrower that is crucial to any team

SC If I was coaching against the WT's I would get my defence to rush and put heaps of pressure on Moses and Brooks , we have nothing outside that will scare any side at any time bar Teddy and they will just name call him left or right

We will need to find a way of keeping teams under 18 points because we won't reach that total 10 time in 2015

JT had a terrific all round kicking game, he'll have a few tips for the halves…decent kicking will soon stop rushing defenses

Quite correct Ink,however they still need support when their not kicking and setting up the backs in attack, and creating openings, kicking isn't the only skill involved in first grade…

I think Moses will kill it this year - with him at 5/8 all season the outside backs will shine as well.

Hope so cktiger. With Mosses and Teddy on the field we will see a much improved Brooks next year too

Tigermama,Cktiger,I agree with you both, however they can't do it on their own..will a couple of hard solid hits knock the stuffing out of them or will they bounce back and perform like NRL professionals ?,this is where a couple of seasoned NRL hard heads would be handy as back up…

True tiger
I agree 100% with your comments. That's why I was a bit upset when they got rid of Blair .
Tim sheens Saw Brooks play when he was 14 news old.
Quoted by Tim sheens he will be the next half back for the Tigers.

I have been watching since then his development. And the preparation of West Tigers. The preparation of Wests Tigers fell apart because of the board.
We had a good clean out of the club and administration. Hopefully we're back on track.

Go Wests Tigers.

Brooks had a killer combo with Tedesco at the start of the year. Add Moses to that and I reckon if they can all stay fit our attack will be pretty lethal.

I must say after Teddy got injured, we didn't dominate like we did at the start of the year when we were belting some of the top sides. We just didn't have that gelled look. Not to mention we lost a major asset in Teddy's ability to break the line and his pace. The kid can fly.

If they all stay fit, new coaches, new team. They may be young but if anyone saw these two play in their juniors you'll understand. They can single handedly rip teams to shreds.

Yeh teddy was huge reason for our early season success. He gave the opposition something to worry about outside the ball players which is exactly what Brooks and Moses need next year.

If we can also find a centre who attracts attention and maybe a back rower we can go well if our forwards hold their own. That's doesn't mean we need to sign a back rower or Centre, it's possible we can find that from within the club.

A fit Simona could be that centre and as far as having a back rower on the edge who draws opposition away from our halves then it's possible Akaoula, Taupua or Siro can do this.

But who knows.

They won't rush up outside they will force them side ways and close them down that way

And we aren't blessed with pace in the outside backs to back up a good short kicking game

Scary thought that one of the best spines in the NRL will be relying on kick and hope

Lets wait till a ball has been kicked in anger shall we…Instead of Happy's fantasy league...geesh
